Are there any other platforms that don't have fees up the ass, or are at least functional? My listings don't get. Views anywhere anymore, and not because of inflation. I can't search for my listings and they don't get promoted or bumped to the top anymore. eBay, Mercari, and Posh fees are astronomical. Etsy is okay, but pretty much dead if you don't have a following and they force Google ads on you and take a huge chunk of your revenue there, even though they have the lowest fees otherwise. I wish I knew how to code. I'd make my own selling platform.

If you listings don't get views you either are:
a) selling shit
b) taking shit photos
c) asking too much
d) have shit titles

Promoted ads are good if you're looking to sell shit fast but if you're not doing any of the above your items will sell even without it, just takes longer.

>I wish I knew how to code. I'd make my own selling platform.

lol brainlet, how long and how much marketing do you think it takes to get ebays userbase? Even if you knew how to code you wouldn't succeed if you don't even know how to sell in the first place.

I got the email this afternoon from Ebay to verify my Bank account, Its been verified for over a year. I don't know what their problem is.
There is another platform coming. Its been controversial because /biz/ always expects some stupid PnD moon token.
But the SafeX (Safe Exchange) will be another Avenue to sell good online.
This was named before all the BSC Shit coins took over from India like Safe Come, or Safe Rocket etc.
If we all worked together we can help get this thing moving and buy/sell and receive dividends for the rest of our lives.

Right now the two beta testing wallets are up.
It uses a fork of Monero.
You can (CPU) Mine SafeX cash and SafeX then stake SafeX.
This new coin was needed because of gas fees, make regular tokens like ETH impractical.
So every dollar spent on the platform from SafeX Cash gets distributed by 5% to all stake holders on the platform.
No fucking bank accounts, no fucking Ebay shit problems.
>Inb4 muh silk road
No Kneegars, that is about the only regulation this will have is, no illegal shit and no acting like a Kneegar ripping and stealing etc.
As soon as this launches I am done with Ebay and going all in on this platform.
Right now the wallet is called The Big Box Store, but I don't think you can open your own merchant account yet.
Problem is right now gotta get it back on an exchange so its holding up V2, but in the mean time it cost like 1K to set up a CPU rig and mine.
Check out the SafeX forums, here is pic related of the store.

>> No.57703748

To all the people complaining about ebay fees, you are an ungrateful little fuck.
The SEO ebay provides alone is worth all the money. Your shitty shopify store will never come close to the amount of exposure ebay gives to your wares.
This is coming from the perspective of collectibles / antiques, where the value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it. In many cases, a painting which you would be lucky to sell for $10 locally on your Facebook marketplace, can sell for thousands to the right person who's willing to pay for it. Without a large exposure, you are severely limited in getting the best possible prices. That's why I am happy to give ebay 15% from the pez candy dispenser which I sold for $100 that I couldn't have sold anywhere else for $5.
(If you just sell Chinese mass produced consumer junk this does not apply to you)

I am a hobby seller,
I won't complain about their Fees.
Try selling shit on your own, its nearly impossible.
I have sold single parts to a Lego set for upwards for 20+ dollars.
ONE LEGO ! (Not Figures)
Better than a 401K and better than shit coins.
The thing that bothers me is I am finding out from other users that Ebay can one day wake up and ask for all your receipts, most of the stuff I get is from garage sales or curb alerts.
They asked me today to re-verify my bank account.

I remember when eBay didn't have fees at all. Anything over 10% is overkill and eBay is far more than 15% because they overcharge for shipping by up to twice as much, just to take the difference as a "fee" and seller doesn't see it either. If you charge fair shipping with PirateShip, you're out the fee yourself. When they had PayPal, it was a nightmare. Tack another 2.9% + .30 on top of that. They're crooks. I also have no problem selling high ticket items IRL because I know who to go to. Hanging out at collector shows, antique shops, toy dealers, etc. all give you a social circle to sell to. OfferUp/FB/Reddit or Instagram+Zelle/Cashapp. I can sell things directly without incurring fees at all. I wouldn't mind fees if the sites weren't perpetually broken with nonexistent customer service. Everything is automated by bots and filtered by jeets who know nothing about the item they claim is "inauthentic." I hate running around in circles with these faggots because you can't talk to a white person with any knowledge on vintage and antiques.

There was someone on reddit talking about how the jeets at Ebay punished his listings for multiple items not listed as one grouped "Drop Down" listing.
He was explaining to them that they were antiques and that all of the descriptions where different.
The jeets at ebay should all be gassed

>> No.57704254

>>57703988
If you're a hobby seller, you probably won't notice it because the differences in price aren't substantial for lighter items.
I'm not on my own computer so I can't screencap, but for a 4lb vase I'm selling. the cost of shipping estimated by eBay is 10.10-20.80 and pirate ship max quotes me from CA to NY at 11.63, so that's what I charge my buyers flat. I've seen people pay as much as $30 shipping for something that costs me $14 to send out. I will actually refund the difference because it pisses me off. This prevents sales from people who count every dollar. If shipping is too high, it'll deter them like it does me.
I had a few people message me in 2020 asking me why my shipping was so high, even though I had it set to eBay's prices and I had nothing to do with those numbers. A difference in $2 is astronomical for low ticket items. I could ship a 3oz piece of junk jewelry for $2.50 in 2019 or so, and now it's $5.50 ($4.36 without feeBay). My regular fees have gone up, then a payment processing fee, shipping fee, and buyers pay up to 9% tax after the law was passed, my original market of costume jewelry I made substantial money on got shot. You don't see anything on eBay under $5 now because of it. I had to resort to getting Amazon prime to buy small parts because they are no longer sold by small businesses.

I can't believe has it really been 8 years ?
It will be nice if it happens, I used their beta system last time that was

I liked it because I didn't have to sign up for anything.
Though it all drop shipped from Amazon, I didn't have any problems.

>> No.57704447

>>57704354
I'm afraid of that too, although they tend to go after higher ticket items. I saw some man who made millions lose his eBay because he didn't source receipts for collectible Nikes. It's more understandable to demand receipts because most were produced after 2020 and brand new, according to him. Those sell for $200+ each on the low end. PS1 games generally aren't expensive, you might have a handful in the collection, so as long as the pricing is diverse and you space out how much you list in a day, you should be fine. I've seen horror stories though. Some woman got sued by Colgate for selling 1 of 3 "fake" new toothbrushes she got in a box of other toiletries at a swapmeet. She was just a nobody hobby seller and it almost destroyed her life. She spent months trying to find a lawyer.
