I sometimes think about SBF. On some level he was just like "us": slightly autistic individual, looking for money, addicted to computers and gaming. He is not "street smart", probably never got in a fight. Can you image how fucking claustrophobic it must be to be in a jail cell? You're thinking about all the things you could be doing or making and on a socioeconomic level you have ZERO relation to the people you share a jail cell with. You are used to eating out, luxurious hotels, media attention and a constant following of people who kiss your feet. Probably 99% of the population of jail is talking with a slang you don't even understand because your day-to-day English is completely different than theirs. By default, you are an outcast and a target. Jail time might be life so there is no easy way out either. That's just your new reality, every day. It's not a game where you restart or a deadline you are looking forward to. There is just no end in sight. It's your new normal.

I personally cannot fathom how I would feel. I never did the crimes he did and that makes us different but I can just imagine for some reason me being in his shoes and I get this utter pressing feeling on my chest that there is no way out. No matter how smart you are, how much money you had or which connections you had you are not getting out. There is no restart or clever trick, it's just the reality. The people in there probably accept it and are used to it they are in gangs or have friends or family which go to jail but SBF was as white as a cracker and probably thought he was invincible until he woke up every day in his jail cell.
