--Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on the cash and securities in Robinhood accounts, much like a bank collects interest on cash deposits and by collecting fees from robinhood gold.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are *** and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-*** for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Was totally wrong about my speculation that gold had formed a top at the end of last week.

Weakness in the dollar index is allowing for the precious metals to rally extremely strongly.

But I also suspect it's also due to shorters (like me) getting trapped and having stops triggered which is significantly adding to the constant upward bias. That, in combination with heavy momentum buying.

I'm unaware of any short-term fundamental factors which could be causing such extreme movements in the dollar index and gold. This leads me to believe that it's simply buyers who are heavily in control of how the gold market is moving, and it'll only stop once they've met targets.

Gold is extremely stretched on the daily time frame, imo.

>> No.5759623

If you are bullish on gold, do be careful. I know only too well (while holding long positions) how easily gold can fall, once the Dollar pops upward.

on that sort of time horizon, you'd have to pay close to attention to what the fed is doing

theoretically, with the upcoming rate hikes, longer-term treasuries may experience some level of price drop

but also pay attention to the mentioning of the "flat" yield curve. Prices for short term treasuries were recently dropping (due to the fed selling short-term treasuries, which increases short-term interest rates to help control inflation), while longer-term treasuries' prices were rising (funds/overseas buying longer-term treasuries to gain access to higher yields and construct certain types of bond portfolios) - overall causing the yield curve to flatten.

But yeah, it could be a good idea, so long as you keep an eye on your technicals and manage risk

Ok, so here's the deal on AMRS...

>it's the leading company in the are of synthetic biololgy/specialty chemical
>they use CRSPR technology to genetically modify yeast to make a by product (chemical compound)
>their technology, through DARPA and AI, allows AMRS to seek new molecules in record time. This process is no longer manually done by a scientist
>This will essentially allow AMRS to synthetically create any chemical compound through yeast.
>AMRS has pivoted from a bio-feuls only player, into jettisoning bio-fuels all together and focusing on fragrance, food (vitamins), and other specialty chems (their biossance line of cream is highly regarded in sephora stores)
>the biggest play that retail is looking forward to is Reb M sweetner. This is a sweetner based off of stevia that will replace current "sugar" use in colas and food. AMRS Reb M is different from everyone else because it does not come from the stevia plant, but from yeast. This makes scaling and production easier and more profitable then traditional methods.
>DSM has heavily invested with AMRS after doing substantial research on the company and has helped AMRS to get on the right track financially and operationally
>the future of synthetic biology is limitless and has all of the tech people in a buzz. They have potential to create antibodies through yeast. Several patents are sealed, some are with the US government as well.
>you must have patience and see this as a long long play

tl:dr version of my "just woke up from a nap" shill - AMRS is the leader of synthetic biology and specialty chem era. It's like buying Dow Du Pont 100 years ago....

On the buy/sell page you have the option to select the exact price at which you want to make your transaction ahead of time. That is a limit order. Bear in mind that if your transaction cannot be completed before the price changes it will only go partly through or not at all (you can also set whether you prefer one or the other).

Check out investopedia on limit orders, stop orders, stop-limits, and stop loss. They're a very important part of trading. Market orders are something you should only do if you want in/out right now and don't care about price slippage.
