>SoftBank Group Corp. founder Masayoshi Son is seeking as much as $100 billion to bankroll a chip venture to compete with Nvidia Corp. and supply semiconductors essential for AI, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
>Code-named Izanagi, the project marks the billionaire’s next big endeavor as SoftBank sharply curtails startup investments. Son envisions creating a company that can complement chip design unit Arm Holdings Plc and allow the billionaire to build an AI chip powerhouse, said the people, who requested anonymity because the discussions remain private. In one scenario being considered, SoftBank would provide $30 billion, with $70 billion possibly coming from institutions in the Middle East, one of the people said.

>Texas now rivals New York as a finance hub
>The country’s largest bank has 31,500 employees in the Lone Star State following an expansion over the last decade highlighted by a four-building, 1-million-square-foot campus in Plano, a suburb of Dallas. That is 2,600 more than it has in New York.
>This tally counts jobs directly tied to the banking industry — like analysts, loan officers, and financial managers — and does not include the insurance and real estate sectors.
>One attraction is that financial giants can save money by moving more employees to Texas. The pay discount for financial workers in Dallas is 10% to 15% when compared with New York, though this discount narrows for more senior positions, according to Chris Connors, a principal with Johnson Associates.

My thought is that as we continue the process of deglobalization and swing more conservative and protectionist, South America will be a key player due to their considerable reserves of oil, copper, and silver, though it's anyone's guess whether it happens in one year, five years, or twenty years. Texas is the southernmost US state and has strong ties to Mexico, which is a manufacturing hub, and Texas itself has strong exports in petrochem and agriculture.

Also, how long until FX/futures open?

Depends. If it's something like SPY 0 dte's, your market price is going to be fair.

If it's some option expiring six months out on a microcap that's worth like $10, the market quotes might be bid/ask $5/$15. You'd want to try a limit sell instead at like $14.50 and walk it down slowly.

California get ready to be cucked by AI dashcams
what started as a stagnant hardware smallcap is pivoting into hardware+tech services to cuck you harder. Dont drive past flashing schoolbuses
>Approximately 350 of California’s 977 school districts now rely on Gatekeeper’s video and data product suite to provide a safer transportation environment for children on their way to and from school.
>We estimate that approximately 1,000 of the 50,000 Mobile Data Collectors we have installed for our customers have now entered contracts under this new recurring revenue business model, which forms the foundation of our data company evolution.”
company is already at pe 11x but only with lumpy contracts, so getting recurring revenue from all those collectors would be $30/month * 50,000 = $18 million 100% gross margin revenue

i will absolutely get rekt if growth gets stunted, so im planning to trim out my cost basis soon and then let the rest ride and see if the CEO will really reach his 1 billion market cap goal (lol), but i think it's more likely it will stall before then or get bought out by a competitor (CEO's previous company got bought out by Honeywell long ago before it could progress beyond a smallcap)

Well the market often does. See, for example, the garbage fire that is BABA. You could make bank full porting puts every time it bumps up against ever declining moving averages.

>OK, fair enough. But wouldn't you at least want to read what happened (even after the price dropped) and decide whether or not the selloff is justified? Like what some algo just dumps it for no reason.
Sure, but what if you're busy for a 5, 10, 60 minute window when that news breaks? Look at something like SAVE last month to see that damage that waiting can do.

You don't need to set a 100% sell at a single, super tight level but I guarantee you you're better off with some reasonable levels preset than winging it or, worse, having some eyeball stop you talk yourself into ignoring in the heat of the moment.

Just got back from my little vacation to lansing. Visited a lot of places. Ended up doing some market research when I was up there. Stopped into an Ollie's and I have to say, those stores are absolutely amazing. None of us are going long enough on OLLI. That will be my next investment. The store was fucking packed and the deals that are actually really good compared to Dollar General and Dollar Tree.

Both Dollar General and Dollar tree, More so Dollar General, are priced the same if not more than a normal grocery store. I don't understand how people can't put 2 and 2 together. Even the expensive grocery store in town is about the same as them. I can get a 32 ounce gatorade at the expensive grocery store for $1.99, meanwhile a 20 ounce gatorade at DG is $2.25. It's pretty ridiculous. But the fact that dollar stores are minimally staffed but charge more means they are probably pretty profitable.

I pay $10 a month and get to stare at tight zoomer ass doing thrusting motions/get free sniffs while I workout. Your investment seems really retarded man. Atleast your family will get a little bit of a workout throwing all that shit in the trash when you die.

Home gyms are a total meme because home is mentally where you are lazy and relax. No matter how convenient the concept sounds its absolutely retarded to try to workout where you live.

Big Lots $BIG in trouble:
If they don't quickly return to profitability bankruptcy is likely. Shorts are betting on it, 22% of outstanding shares shorted.
But after 6 quarters of deeply horrible negative EPS figures, things are starting to look up,
>$0.16 positive EPS for Q3 due to "gains on the sale of real estate and related expenses"
>EPS is expected to be strongly improved YoY for Q4, retails strongest quarter
>inflation is still hitting hard, consumers are ditching TGT and WMT, favoring budget stores instead

Currently BIG is trading close to ATL ($135M mc) and in Q4 2023 Michael Burry (Scion Asset Management) bought in with 225,000 shares, per the latest 13F.
Share price as of last friday is $4.62, making it a cheap gamble. Of course there is a meme short squeeze element in play as well.
>Price/Sales (ttm) 0.02
>Price/Book (mrq) 0.34
Once cost savings are in and EPS is profitable, P/E ratio is expected to go to 20-30, same as Dollar General, Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, Ollie's, Wallmart, Target. So far they sold their California distribution center (Apple Valley) and 23 stores. But if they survive long enough Burry may be interested because there is an opportunity for an extremely aggressive share buyback play.
>$159M allocated for share buybacks
>current market cap of $135M
>ample liquidity thanks to 22% short interest

If in the following quarters they can reduce their losses and scramble enough cash for A) general business B) debt down payments and C) share buybacks they can buy up to 99% of shares outstanding.

Preliminary Q4 results:
>"we generated substantial cash flow in the quarter, which was used to pay down debt on our $900 million asset-based lending facility."
Very high risk play, could make returns for shareholders exponentially higher should they manage to return to their historical annual net income of $100M+.
>current net loss $-463M (TTM)
>could allow the company to take advantage of their low stock price (price/sales 0.02, price/book 0.34)

Oh he's very much opposite on the spectrum. What I mean is that he can lead to a widespread social and political crisis, and I'm not sure I believe he will get public spending in check. So far his measures have been in that direction, but over relatively minimal parts of the budget, it's not clear to me he will have any real success.

The bottom line of what I'm saying is that I wouldn't put much money into the bonds myself.

You know. I generally stay away from coomer coinflip investments such as natgas futes. But that low is pretty convincing... I mean, surely, it can't go too much lower than this without either companies stopping produciton or significant infrastructure builds to close the price differential vs EU? I don't doubt below $0 natgas is possible but if there's any demand pickup a well-leveraged bet could make a good return.

That said. I feel the real play here is to buy US based chemical companies that use natgas as their feedstock. I am not sure if any companies actually meet this description as many US-listed companies also have facitilies in EU.

Oil entered a negative price around March 2020 or somewhere around there, production couldn't be halted and storage was full due to shutdowns. Longs had to pay people to buy their contracts at a huge loss

That was oil. And yes that's why I say I believe it's possible for natty gas too.

>>57650949
No you don't understand. I mean buy the futes directly, or some ETF that tracks them. The companies are probably fucked no matter what and probably won't recover that much on a natgas spike anyways.

I know it was oil, but my point was that when you stop dealing with equities, and start doing futures, commodities, and use margin and leverage, you have to accept that things can go below 0 and that you can lose more than you put in. If you're buying things that directly track it.
If you're using an ETF, you're going to get fucked on IMFs and tracking error on those categories. Think of it as an idiot tax for people who hold it long term and dont understand how to use CFDs or futures themselves.
Mostly, I'm just saying to be careful

NG did not go negative and never will because supply can be so easily destroyed. Whatever (if any) EPA fees the LNG companies get slapped with are far fewer than paying someone to take your gas.
>>57650934
I think the move is playing chicken with the admin and leveraging before they reopen exports. It is a falling knife but one that will pay handsomely. All I know is whenever I call a bottom usually there is one more bottom then an uptrend, so it'll go lower than 1.555.

Nat gas hurt a lot of people, fracking changed everything about the industry and a lot of folks didn’t grasp the magnitude of the supply change.
Food though I’d like to play with, it seems to have real Bollinger Bands and if the price comes off farmers will just not plant that year. It and lumber have real floors, they just take half a decade to happen.

Schwab can't even keep their ETF holdings up to date and their tax optimizer algo washes trades constantly. I would not trust their "proprietary algorithm" to have any correct information. They probably think Facebook still sells adverts for their divvy money.

Arm doesn't make anything themselves at the moment. Nvidia purchases Arms IP and tweaks it and gets TSMC to produce their tweaked designs. SoftBank is going to give the capital necessary for ARM to directly compete. By the way nvidia's grasshopper is in collaboration with ARM. Softbank doesn't want ARM to be a white label architect anymore.
