Sounds good to me bro I'm 22 and been living on my own for 3 years. I will say though I remember having ideas and motivation about saving "insert percentage here" a month but when you're out and about expenses and purchasing will pile up. Since you're moving in with friends I'm assuming you guys will go out, eat out, buy stuff together. It's a hidden exploit glitch that will sap your bank account silently over time. Also I would say don't set strict timetables on life. Have a general idea of what you want to see yourself becoming but don't be disappointed when that thing doesn't happen in the expected time you want it to happen. Adulting can get weird sometimes and you come across opportunities and events that can throw a wrench into things. I'm young and still navigating through adult life but I like the independence

I think the degree is a good idea. STEM is the best type of degree to get, though. Also work through uni unless you are studying something like engineering and you simply cant get good grades while working simultaneously. Take women on dates because you will never again be surrounded by young intelligent women again. Dont waste time partying but do join a dance club or some sort of public speaking club to boost your confidence.

>20k in the bank after buying new car. currently avg 4.5% interest
>30k in retirement, 20k in brokerage majority in shit and piss 500
>save 10k a month plus maxed out 401k and put like $500 a month in brokerage account
>save for three years
> take about 400k in savings (hopeful savings account can avg about 3.5% over three years) and buy a house outright

If you wait too long you'll find you wasted your best years trying to isolate to save money when you could've been enjoying life. Not all of the things you'll enjoy in life need an obscene amount of money. I took women to the beach for dates often back before I met my wife. Things like that and nature trails are a good time where nobody expects you to spend money.
