As long as the US government doesn't realize that foreign governments that are subject to sanctions like North Korea, Russia, and Iran are using Bitcoin as a work around to trade in dollars indirectly, then Bitcoin will have its use case. India for instance can trade using Bitcoin to Russia and effectively trade still in petrodollars. Until it gets regulated and tracked as a securities and subject to the same sanctions, it will essentially allow for businesses, wealthy individuals, and nations to effectively trade in dollars.

Use case number 2. Do you know why inflows from Asia occur around February? It's not just halving, but the fact that many Asians are trying to send their kids or relatives money, but don't want to spend on exchange rates. And it doesn't help that at the same time Argentina is going through an inflation bump. They used to try to move their money in dollars, but now they can access the dollar essentially through bitcoin. Sure it's more volatile, but it's also unregulated and there's no exchange rate. The US government seems clueless to all this.

That's not how currencies work. BTC is traded in dollars and marked to the dollar, but is not changing the dollar supply and inflation. It does allow for people to work around the US government to get away with trade that might not be in the best interest of the public or the governments, but that's up to the governments to get smart about it, or not. They seem pretty clueless.
