I’ve been picking up original art, paintings, statues etc. high end stuff for eBay (1-3k) but no one wants to buy it. I’ve sold a couple paintings for 1k each but that’s about it. Is a couple grand really too much to spend on original art by known artists? What gives why won’t any of you rich assholes buy my stuff? I’m just going to raise the price each month.

the problem with original art is how do I know it was painted by a White man?

the most I've ever spent on art is $300

if you asked me to buy a piece of art for $3k I'd explain to you that I'm never more than a month's wait and an hour's drive away from a local artist market... there are plenty of starving artists who are willing to sell me their kitschy unique creations that they slaved over for weeks in exchange for a couple hundred dollars... so no I don't need your overpriced $3k crap

You're just flipping other people's stuff?

No, anon. He's trying to flip other people's stuff, and failing, and he's left with the bags.

I’ve got several pieces of well known dead artists but obviously can’t say who without doxxing myself. I find a piece or 2 about once a year but I look hard for it. I sold an original for 1k and I’m sure it was worth way more but that’s how it goes on ebay

Well, if they were good, why are they dead?
Checkmate zoroastrians.

there's actually still a few zoroastrians left

I used to work with one

I had a beautiful and very rare statue by famous artist and it was like pulling teeth to get $800. A bidder terribly regretted not bidding more and begged me for days but I had to honor the winner who didn’t even know who the artist was. Honestly it could have been worth 10k but I fucking auctioned it on eBay.

there's your problem. Nobody uses eBay anymore. You'd be much better off listing your art on Etsy at inflated prices, and waiting for some rich white girl to click "buy" without ever looking at the price

>a beautiful and very rare statue
was it a remington?

Several of you mention being multi millionaires and basically being nothing but a retired and bored normie. So what can I find for you? What sort of original art can I get you. I’m out looking every day for this stuff. Let me help you

I am this person, but I prefer to travel and buy the art in person, then ship it back to my house. Can you give me a throwaway email or something? I'm not looking today, like right now, but I do generally like to collect art so I'm curious what you have and at the very least, I can save you as a contact.

Yes now I’m very careful and just leave auction prices very high but the views are pathetic. I could get more views on a local Facebook group. Not Remington. A little more obscure. I’m a big fan of art but I find it undervalued. Especially compared to dumb shit like nfts or Pokémon cards. So I guess I’ll keep buying it and hope it appreciates

Ya thx I don’t even have a throw away. Literally can’t create email these days without them asking for your mobile. I’ll think about it
