the consequences of holding rates here are probably hard to understand because we haven't really had rates here long enough to see. Big tech companies have been laying off their diversity hires and the software engineering market has definitely cooled significantly, but now we've found a new money maker to latch onto. I'd like to think the market is a little more responsible than in 2001 but that was like 23 years ago by now. Most of the money has flowed into existing companies so no more NASDAQ full of literal whos at least. If everything holds, then there might be a decent chance that we get another percentage of unemployment and that's as bad as it gets. (Still bad, but not MONUMENTALLY bad) Unemployment going up even 1.5-2 percent might not be THAT awful.

The kicker however is that assumes ALL ELSE being equal. That means no more government mandates to fuck the eocnomy up, no more shitty ass wars where we have to kill the population to save it, and the biggest factor I think is oil prices. Yeah, oil is down but i hesitate to call 75/barrel during the cold season cheap. Oil prices going way up during peak oil I really think is to be expected, and that's when we're really gonna stress test this economy. Which is why all the cut in Q1/Q2 fags are totally delusional.

Anyways, I think the consequences are more unemployment potentially, but maybe we've healed the economy enough that this just passes right over us and inflation stalls out around the 2-3%. Seems really plausible in my eyes, but I'm not gonna say its guaranteed or even likely.

also something really aids worth talking about with oil is I'm really not too certain what was happening with oil from 2011-2015, but I do know they definitely cut prices when Trump was around and that's with Trump wanting the US to be a bigger oil force than it used to be. Surprise, we get Biden in 2020, and other than the blip in 2020 we haven't seen prices since that. Personally, I have an EXTREMELY difficult time thinking OPEC is gonna play nice with us come summer going into an election since they seem to think Biden's a fucking cunt. What it did do is reverse WTI's Ukraine bidding war from 80 to 120 in about 3 months. The rise and fall both flowed through to retail gas prices with a damped lag.

>draining it in the first place was retarded, but doing so again would be insanely pathetic even for a modern politician

EU and ASIA gas is much higher, regardless of the warm winter. Halvenings are a sell the news moment that triggers retail...after a much stronger rally beforehand. It has nothing to do with block rewards themselves. Why would miners sell off more coins than they need to in order to keep the lights on when they *know* the price will go up a few quarters later? They wouldn't.

And larger factors can swamp that dynamic, as we saw with the first and third ones.

The missing tooth was due to one of those fluke things; cracked that sucker to bad to save it. Her; 34, fillings galore, two gone, plus a crown and a few more fillings on the way. For the record though; yeah my Wife does work. Just that she makes less than me. She also rolls into her own S&P retirement fund. I set that up for her long ago. Did it for several reasons; most of the retirement options at places she worked sucked, she has a habit to job hop so rather than deal with the retirement account rollover/payout shuffle game every time she did such a move I simply nipped that in the bud. Also if in the event we later divorce or whatever well the fact that she will be pretty set already may lessen the hit on my side of it.

Now I also countershorted as a small safety. But on the opposite end of the dump. I'll be red anyways unless we hard pump cause my longs are larger or theta somehow manages to save me.

Nothing really helps you invest unless you change yourself.

It's the same with lifting. Shoes, straps, shorts, whatever. If you don't change your attitude, your motivation, your will + patience + a plan, you won't really do better. You will only be later annoyed about the further expense that you wasted in the false illusion it might make you better at an activity you halfass. Like me today.

If you don't run Windows you shouldn't need to spend more than ~$100 on a laptop that's just for email/finances.

Not until we have bitcoin futures that are widespread (actual bitcoin futures not the fucking gay "cash settled" futures the CME runs.)
