Well link is kind of like this. Say you are hungry right, and you haven't really taken a shower in say a week or so. You are thinking how can I get food? I'm one hungry guy and you know what I'm out of food at home. This is where link comes in. Basically you get in your car (the chainlink oracle) and drive to McDonald's (web 2.0/non native blockchain) to acquire your big Mac. Then you drive home and go back into your home (native block chain) and eat it. That's basically chainlink. It works in that system because you can't just get food without driving to the store and buying it. Ok so here's how ICP works. Imagine you have an intense urge to acquire frozen pee. You can't really explain it but you live in a mansion so you know you must be making good decisions and trust your gut instinct. Instead of driving to the store, you call an Uber (HTTPS Outcalls) and your frozen piss is delivered to your mansion (ICP blockchain). But then you realize that you kinda want more in life than a mansion and some icy pee and decide to open up your mansion to let your friends live with you and start holding votes on what to do next or even how to upgrade the mansion(network nervous system). In a way your cool mansion will always be future proof because all your peeps have a stake in the mansion and game theory knows they will do whats in their best interest. There is even more functionality though. You look at your neighbors and you really start scrutinizing their mansions. You see that the outside and marketing makes them look like the creme de la creme. But upon closer inspection it appears that their homes are built on unstable foundations and the materials used for the homes were knockoffs (web 2.5 - all of crypto is built on centralized servers like AWS, that use (not built on!) blockchains to store token or nft data but the rest is controlled by big tech). ICP allows for full stack crypto cloud
