From someone with years of experience in the /biz/, let me spill the beans

- decide your strategy and stick to it. Some things you can buy for holding long term but others you need to get rid of quickly, do not marry your bags and do not make fast trades based on emotion. Take a step back, look at many narratives and different shitcoins and make logical decisions

- when should you hold? when the team of the shitcoin is doxxed in some way and they display professionalism in their actions and communications, when months pass and whales hold, when they have money to spend and do so silently, without hyping any minor contribution (silence is bullish), when they don't make promises but just deliver

- when should you dump? temporary narratives, unreliable/shady developers, suspicious pumps/dumps (coordinated), when someting is heavily shilled right here on /biz/ (anonimity attracts scammers), when 10 people hold 60%, when tokens are moved and sold, when it's a presale. When you realize your coin is funded by people looking for quick profits, don't play the long game just take your profits and move on to the next

- use telegram scanners such as TTF, proficy bot or OTTO, these will save you from 90% of obvious rugs and provide real data if you're not versed in solidity, of course knowing the language is the only golden standard for security

- ask other people for help and learn to recognize scammers.

Another big factor in when to hold is your price point, if you bought the absolute top (which means you bought a god candle, which you should never do) it can sometimes lock you in a position for months
