Now - after about a month - I'm now an expert and have realized that it would probably have been safer (considering the ATH nature of the market) to have DCA'd instead of just yoloing like I did.
I've made 3.5% gains since then, though, so now I'm wondering if I should just let it ride, or do I cash out and start DCA'ing instead to minimize risk.

You kinda can though, you just need to be ok with potentially parting with your shares. So don't pick strikes that wind up with you selling for a loss. Simple as. And implied vol is usually greater than realized vol so thus the covered call seller is usually able to capitalize on that. But like anything else, it's not a guarantee. But the worst that can happen is you sell the shares at the agreed upon price which hopefully should be a gain

I don't have hard targets, I just buy and sell them over and over at various levels depending on how the movement feels at the time. I try to always be holding a core that I add to and sell from so the cost basis is always in flux too. Sometimes I get surprised by upside like recently when I sold at a little over 74 but it wound up breaking out from the local crab zone so I bought a little more above 75 and still hold that. I'll see what happens Monday and depending on strength of trend might sell some if it's dropping and I think it will go deeper then watch for the next buy in point. Also OIL I won't short at anywhere around these levels but if NATGAS does any strong spikes up I'll get some more KOLD.

It's definitely possible to outperform it with clever stock picking and I'd definitely try to do that on the side, but even with something like MAIN that's generally an excellent investment it's still a single company with higher chance of failure than a basket of a hundred or so.
Ultimately the choice depends on the investor and how involved you are and what your risk tolerance is like.

There was one show that I watched almost religiously for quite some time. It was "Shadowtrader Uncovered" that ran during the final hour or maybe the final 30 minutes of the NYSE. Peter and Brad (Lil' P-Rez & Big Ounce Brad, as I named them) always did a very enjoyable review of the day with some of their own opinion and ideas sprinkled in.

The funny part about stock trading, and I'm sure someone can back me up on this, but when things are good or sort of bubbly is that it's so fucking easy to "make" money. I say "make" because it's so easy to look at your account and see your total "net worth" and God damn does it feel good. But at this point all my money is tied up in long positions that I got for a good price during the COVID run up.
