Then there's the fools who gain 2% in one day and think nothing of it because they want like 20% or more on their trade, so instead of locking in 2% in one day and then moving on to the next trade (or until the thing they sold crabs back down) they lock in roughly 0% in 6 months lmao.

Let's say you buy something and sell it 6 months later with a 30% gain. It's good but the slope of that trade is only 0.2%/day. Now let's say you buy something and sell it for a 2% gain after one day, the latter has 10x the "verticality" of the former.

As for the frequency, imagine you can do a +2% trade twice a week, that's +684% a year. So you want to maximise the slope of your trades and do them as often and quickly as possible (and make room in your portfolio for other trades). Just so we're clear though I baghold most of my trades that are in the red but that's a decent way to ensure my portfolio doesn't go down (of course the entry price and position size can't be too stupid).
