The stock went up with the news.

Microsoft really overhired and did a lot of acquisitions during covid.

They are skimming some of the less profitable parts of the business and the employees that don't provide as much value.

That being said, it sucks.

I know for a fact they scrapped one game so some devs got moved or laid off.
