Because the U.S. government at this point is a rogue institution that steals from its own population. A population it acts as if it is at war with and then it rotates certain lucky individuals into positions within that government where they use it to enrich themselves at the nation's expense.

It's legal because no one is going to make that sort of a system illegal because long before it is made illegal, during what you might call "the challenge phase" the person issuing the challenge along with their whole family will be dealt with and that John Oliver or Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert or one of the many layers of disinformation mechanisms will come on your TV screen and casually vomit propaganda all over you and everyone around you.

And if you don't believe it, you're starting to become dangerously close to one of those people in the "challenge phase" and you can learn real quick how easily your life can go to shit when you upset the wrong people. The only reason anything in the world right now seems odd to people is because they refuse to believe they're in a slave pen. Most voters still think we have a two-party system. Over my lifetime I’ve watched “Republicans” “seize power” then bicker and stall, accomplishing nothing major, while eventually compromising with the “Democrats” on a bill here and there. alternatively I remember there was a study in 2006 that explained congress ALWAYS outperforms the market by 6%. so if the markets down 8%, they're only down 2%. and if the markets up 12%, they made 18%. it's a fucking average, so it shows the insane amount of fraud that goes on.
