I don't resent her for it, but I do think that she's a good example of how hard it was to fail in her generation. She even encouraged me to do the same, by saying that I should focus on socialisation and joining clubs at uni, and that I should accept lower paid or part time jobs if they're more enjoyable for me. I'm currently on 4x her income and when my wife goes back from maternity leave she'll be on 3.5x her income. We don't plan to make the same mistakes as her, because in our generation you just can't recover from them.
