I just buy ETFs as part of my 401k and other retirement accounts. I have some other investments in random shit.

As a heavy ETF investor in think like S&P 500 (VOO and SPY for example) I am curious if anyone has done a study on if its a positive feedback loop where everyone invests in the same thing because they think its safe but it becomes over bought? Something with some intelligence behind the analysis not some "the end is nigh" shit on youtube.

As for ATH timing, I would just buy now. If you DCA for 5-10 years starting now, you will be estatic if it goes on a pull back. With dollar cost averaging you never give a shit about buying a top because if you do, next time you buy the bottom. it all washes out.

There are two crash types to worry about.
A bubble burst crash would be a single sector crashing huge because people don't want it at the high price anymore. If it is a large enough sector it will bring down other sectors because people are scared. Typically though, the money will rotate into a different sector or sectors. SPY type funds are good because they sheild you from the single sector failures by "diversifying".
A market crash is different in that liquidity aka money runs out all of a sudden. And people can't dca into their funds like usual. People can't buy dips because they don't have money. In this case, everything goes down and it doesn't matter what you have. These crashes are "why" the fed exists (on paper) because they can provide liquidity so people don't go bankrupt and everything is hunky dory.

Every time I go to visit he is so happy to see me and watching a football game and having a beer with him seems like it means the world to him. Every time I leave he always has such a sad demeanor and says "oh you're leaving?". It kind of breaks my heart to hear him say that because I know me visiting is usually the highlight of his week. Would you want your dad to know every degenerate thought you ever had? Hopefully no of course not and it would go without saying you wouldn't want to know every degenerate thought your father has ever had ever in his life. Same goes for your significant other. Women don't want to know ever fear, doubt, or adulteress/degenerate ideas you have. It would be damaging to your relationship with your girlfriend/wife. Healthy relationships have healthy boundaries for a reason. I'm just enjoying being single and having this one life to live. I don't care what people think I do in the bedroom because I don't share that shit with them and I'm not curious about anybody else's bedroom life either. Pedophiles deserve the rope though.

I hated my face, for example, found it odious, and even suspected that there was some mean expression in it, and therefore every time I came to work I made a painful effort to carry myself as independently as possible, and to express as much nobility as possible with my face. "let it not be a beautiful face," I thought, "but, to make up for that, let it be a noble, an expressive, and, above all, an extremely intelligent one." Yet I knew, with certainty and suffering, that i would never be able to express all those perfections with the face I had. The most terrible thing was that I found it positively stupid. And I would have been quite satisfied with intelligence. Let's even say I would even have agreed to a mean expression, provided only that at the same time my face be found terribly intelligent

Don't really know much about it but ASML is great. One of EUs best stocks. Up there with Novo.
I know there was this one dude here that was recommending German mid-cap contractors that provide precision equipment and semiconductor stuff for big caps. Those tend to outperform the indices.

>my guess is there's a fatwa on palladium until joe biden's floating head declares mecha-putin and the chinese hivemind to be back in the good graces of the circumcising nations.
Or maybe, just maybe, it was a P&D run orchestrated by greedy traders on a quasi-useless metal with a zero depth market, and now prices are going back to the mean?
There was zero fundamentals justifying a spike over $3K, and it only lasted for a session. It obviously was traders shenanigans.

The chart sure looks like something who is finally going back to normal levels.
I wouldn't expect any leg up anytime soon, either crabbing or slow creep up.

So what do you guys think of 2x leveraged ETFs? Obviously we laugh at stuff like TQQQ or SOXL when it comes to long term holds since the 3x leverage causes so much decay in crab markets...

I've been doing a lot of research and it seems like 2x leveraged etfs like SSO or USD are the sweet spots if we are talking about longterm DCA over the course of like a decade or two. There is also leverage related decay but it's a lot less and statistically speaking they should outperform unleveraged or triple leveraged etfs in most scenarios.

Why aren't these recommended more often? 2x leverage seems to be unpopular for both boomers and for us younger generations when looking at forums like /biz/

well now you know your stepmom is a screamer. stop asking questions you don't want to know the answer to. and stop coping b/c you're on the optimal path.

if school is what you really want to do, there's tons of jobs that will pay for school. several government programs too.

Visa and Mastercard cutting service to Russia with no warning permanently put me off of them. Imagine if you happened to be on vacation there that day. What then? If they can do that with Russia then they can do it with any other country. People will remember that and bail out to something else as soon as a good alternative comes around.
