I find his story pretty sus, considering i've found nothing even approaching this shape online, and 4.5oz seems insanely heavy for gallic silver dating back around -300/-100 BC.

I think the lines on the skin could be shrinkage lines from metal inside the bar getting squished out making wrinkles in the skin of the pour.

I'm not too big into metallurgy, but with many things, there is usual some kind of isotope in it where you can use the isotope ratios to check the age. (think Carbon14 for dating most carbon containing things, or Tritium, for waters from 1960 on)
Don't know if there's anything in Silver that can be used, and if so, what its price is.
Stable isotopes in water (180/Deuterium) are rather cheap (I'm charging like 60-80€), but for specialized stuff, things can escalate rather quickly.
