It is supposed to be used as a reward on their blockchain for giving data.

The idea is you sign up for their wallet/use an IOT device they produce, you allow them to retrieve your data and store it in a PDL (Personal Data Locker) Companies that need your data can use the Jasmy blockchain to search for specific data types and request access by giving you a reward in Jasmy.

They do appear to have created a few IOT devices so far and made partnerships with Japanese companies and sport stadiums.

A lockup is "scheduled this quarter" Where companies will lock up a percentage of circulating supply and use it to pay users for data.

I have moderate hopes for Jasmy even though very little information is released regularly aside from twitter updates, but the way I look at it so many companies like FB, X, Insta etc all make tons of money by selling data and if a law came into place to allow users to opt out etc. Jasmy would be a good system for users to control their personal online data and receive a cut from companies selling their data.

There has also been a few call centers using Jasmy secure PC to encrypt and store data of users who call in. Because the data is decentralized and stored across multiple different machines it is harder to have a data breach

So their max supply is 50 billion Jasmy. When it was launched it's circulating supply was so low (Less than 1m) this is what caused the price to jump to $4-5.

They have since been releasing the supply (over the course of 3 years) which has caused the lack in growth/decrease in price.

The idea is that all circulating supply is released and companies are to buy a large portion as part of the Data Ecosystem. Over the 3 years they have been producing technology to support the ecosystem and make partnerships with companies while releasing the Jasmy in the developer wallets into CS.

Oddly enough I actually believe it's one of the most useful blockchain projects around. It also used to be the only Japanese govt. approved coin (no idea if it still is). But usecase and legitimacy doesn't matter if it can't sustain mouthbreather interest.
