It won't happen at $30 anymore. Even if they try to appeal, they can't close within the July timeframe. Jetblue has no reason to extend further at todays terms, even if they do still want the merger.

The problem is that Spirit is shit and Jetblue was overpaying relative to the way their finances and the airline industry has evolved these past 2 years.
It could be worth $10-15 or a bit more based on current assets, which is decent upside from the $6-8 area SAVE traded after the trial decision was unveiled. But it's not going to $30 and it's probably not even going past $15 given that's now effectively the best case upside.

So the more sensible thing would be to restructure the merger, if anything. Restructuring meaning a recut to a lower price, $20 or so at best. I was positive on these prospects earlier in the thread, but as I think about it more it's just going to be an awkward 6 months. Any upside is too far out to be worth buying a stake today. Better to just keep on watch and see how things develop.
I lost some money betting on this merger, but I think it's important to accept the current situation. What you're buying today is not what it was yesterday.
