In theory it's better in a down market than relying on something like selling shitnpiss shares, but we don't really know yet because it's still new. If it's able to keep its head above 8% yield in a proper recession it will be really interesting. It is heavily taxed too in a taxable account as well >>57306761 yeah. i was watching the gme trader roaringkitty or something like that and he was talking about how he tries to get 50-100% annual is his goal. he had a spreadsheet of all these random small cap stocks and had like all their financial data. he didn't say his methods just showed the spreadsheet but it made me realize i am looking for value in the wrong places.

also said most of his best gains came from companies where the graph looked terrible so i am guessing huge sell offs but the company had decent fundamentals and he just waited. i know this was warren buffets method of investing "cigar butts" that still had a couple puffs left them. but he later said this was actually a mistake and instead started buying good companies and holding LONG term. of course he decent capital i think he was a multimillionaire by the time he was 30 so even 10% annual was good value. for someone with a smaller portfolio i think roaringkitty style of investing is more effective because you can grow your portfolio much faster than just holding homedepot or apple for 20 years.

where do i learn this style of investing?

FA is just as much of a meme as TA. Bottom line is whenever you enter a position one of 3 things can happen, line go up, line, go down, line stays where it is. Period. Why does it go up? More buyer than sellers. Why does it go down? More sellers than buyers. You can watch the goyvision and listen to all the talking heads explain why but unless they are the ones placing the huge market moving orders then it's just talk and drivel. You have essentially a 50/50 chance of being right on direction on liquid tickers. Illiquid low volume tickers are more difficult because you could be the order that moved the market and you don't want to do that. At least I don't want to. I want others to move the market for me.

True, but then it gets liquidated anyway and distributed to your next of kin in kash value anyway if you had a 401k, which is a huge amount of investing and only growing huger. That leads to sells too, doesn't it?

What do you think the kids do with the cash? They buy back in. It's similar to a step up in basis if you inherit a regular brokerage account where you don't have to sell. Also all the people contributing to 401ks and other retirement plans each month. Those are buys. Also the PPT, they buy. Never forget about the PPT

Also Chinese authority take AGES until they publicly address a market rout. It took them like 5 days to react while the HSI was taking a massive dump. An older guy I trust once told me a story of his friend who is pretty rich, having a villa in Miami and several apartments for rent in germany etc. He told me he was awestruck as he saw this middleaged man cry and lament that he had some issues with some tenants while literally sitting on millions of dollars/euros. And this was prior to the Corona crisis, so those apartments are now probably a lot more worth.

That was a little eyeopening. Money can make you sick.

Chinese mil corruption is so bad their rocket fuel was cut with impurities and bay doors wouldn't open

The chinks couldn't win a land war if they tried. Their internal corruption has fucked them. Bribery is the rule of law their. They're stealing from the rich to service gov't debt caused by graft in the construction industry. 30% youth unemployment rate. No children being born, worse than us replacement rate.

In short, unless the chinks increase fucking and domestic consumption by 5000% they're fucked.
