>The CEOs of PinDuoDuo, Jingdong, and Alibaba are hauled before a court on charges of financial crimes.
>This being China, they're all guilty.
>And, this being China, when the court finds them guilty the judge sentences them to bizarre punishments.
>"First," the judge says to the PinDuoDuo CEO, "your crimes were not so bad. For failing to report Temu earnings properly, I sentence you to wearing cheap rags from Temu for the rest of your life."
>"Your crimes" he says to the Jingdong CEO, "were worse. For overstating ad revenue by 30%, you will pay 30% more tax on every dollar you earn. Let that be a lesson for you."
>Lastly he turns to the Alibaba CEO and says, "Your crimes, however, were the worst of all. For planning a fraudulent multibillion dollar IPO, laundering fortunes for the enemies of China, and leading a treasonous conspiracy against President Xi himself, I sentence you to keeping all your money in Alibaba stock."

Uranium is not some rare commodity my man and we only need a miniscule amount of it compared to other commodities.

The reason it's a play is that the sector has seen chronic underinvestment for over a decade and because nuclear is coming back into the public consciousness as a viable alternative to dirty energy with more and more reactors that will come online in the coming years.

The catch is that mines take years and years to get up and running and require huge upfront capital which won't be activate unless the spot price is so high that it makes it worthwhile.

It's a bull run that will last anywhere from 2-5 years, eventually production will come online but until then we ride it.

Hard to say. Normally I would say no because Larry Fink usually bails out DEI companies because he is trying to front run the destruction of the west, but he's been obsessed with making bitcoin ETFs a thing so I don't think he cares about failing woke companies anymore. Elon Musk put DEI on blast and Boeing and the media has been covering it which means normalfags are going to start noticing. Personally, I was planning on going to Vegas this year but i'm not stepping foot on a plane as long as unqualified niggers and trannies are piloting them, so I guess I'll just go to MGM in Detroit instead. So yes, short Boeing.

Too bad there ain't no good Uranium stocks. All of them have either ridiculously high PE or a negative PE. And people here say NVDA is overvalued with its PE of 30-40...
Still, Uranium is nice. Too bad the reactors are weirdly not so reliable. Here in Scandinavia, they require tons of maintenance and are frequently down for several weeks.
In Finland, they get about 30% of their electricity from Nuclear and yet their energy prices are skyhigh. Weird

Good you people are fucking stupid. Miners follow the spot price but with compound. Miners are essentially a leveraged play on spot price. If spot goes up miners go up even more and their P/E comes down cause they can sell their shit for more.

If uranium goes to $200 it doesn't matter what uranium related stock you own, they will all moon.

>All of them have either ridiculously high PE or a negative PE. And people here say NVDA is overvalued with its PE of 30-40...
This is why P/E is not a be-all-end-all metric.

If uranium was selling at a $50 long-term rate a year ago, a mine that cost $50/lb to run would've reported an infinite P/E.

Therefore you wouldn't buy it even if spot hits $200 and the mine locks in long term contracts at $80 or $100. Not until that starts showing up in earnings, but by then it's too late.

Copper, oil, every cyclical commodity goes through spikes but they follow different rules. Copper you get chinks cancelling construction projects and mines that take years. Oil you get SPR dumps and OPEC cheaters opening taps.

But uranium? The demand side is locked in since you don't idle a plant if the fuel price doubles or triples. Which means it has to be solved on the supply side. Which means mines. Mines that take years. That's why the 2006 bubble didn't really start resolving until Fukushima dumped a bunch of supply on the market 5 years later.

nuclear power isn't just "coming back into the public consciousness" although you're right that that is happening and that it is part of the way all trends go.
literally all governments that matter and even quite a few that don't matter all flipped the script about 1.5 to 2 years ago, and quietly changed their stance from viewing fission somewhat askance to "nuclear is baseload and there will be no debate."
wealthy revolving-door people are paying to change public consciousness. it is already decided.
they've had plenty of people telling them what to try for decades but this is happening now because they've finally realized that nuclear engineers are right, not just talking their book, and that they have always been right. the anti-nuclear memes are the lie that sprinted around the world, but the truth has its shoes on now. it makes sense; if you were going to go into energy and you were smart, you'd pick the long-term winner no matter how unpopular they are today.
but nuclear engineers just want what's best, that's what they're like. governments want this because it means more people and that means a larger tax base. the political class has exhausted all other means of keeping themselves wealthy and it's about to resort to zimbabwae-tier money-printing even in the west. they're literally stuck. they have to change the entire world's energy scape or give up all their power.

Another cold day. 9 degrees with a bit of snow/ice on the ground. Me and the wife have been uh generating lots of "shared bodily warmth" to help pass the time. That and I've been catching up on some unread hentai manga. Hmm last year's taxes I got back a fat refund and didn't owe nothing. So hopefully that streak will keep on this year. So far it looks that way (W-2's came in already and I entered them in tax application) so all that remains is the 1099s. Also have some cap loss carryover money still in reserve to use up from I think 2021?, 6,100 maybe, so this tax season, next year's taxes, and in 2025 the cap loss money will be exhausted. Which works out good for me due to the pay hikes I've been getting and on tap for this year and next.

I don't know about the other ones but you can actually just open a phone book and call metal suppliers.

I'll have the €46k relatively permanently with limited growth since it's entirely passive. The idea if feasible is to find a decent/safe place to live (in Europe) and throw whatever I don't use back into the market.

Also, I don't want this to come across as bragging, I genuinely want advice but I don't know how else to frame it. Right now I have the ability to save ~$137-150k/yr (NET) so the passive income isn't the only thing I'd have if you include savings but my problem is that I don't have a goal I'm working towards. I'm basically just working to get more money.

That brings me to the second (long-term) question... if I wanted to support a family of 4 with the ~€46k/y how much should I save before trying to move out there? Ideally I would like to avoid having to get another job in the future...

Wtf, man? Portugal, Spain, Greece, any eastern euro country. There you could easily live off of that in a year.

With the saved money I assume you want to invest/trade? Even the 150k would be enough, I'd say, especially for the aforementioned countries. You the majority to your liking, and a small part, like 20-30k you can use for gambling (options/CFD)

As a greek who lives in germany, I'd say spain is the most suitable/comfy place for a westener.

Greece is also nice, but it is economically weaker and, hard to describe, but logically less western.

Best idea probably would be to make a trip through europe and see the places yourself.

In spain the chances to meet english/german is higher than for example greece although there certainly also are tourist spots where you can meet those as well as swedes.

Portugal is becoming a shithole after 8 years of socialist/communist rule. if they win the elections on March dont bother. they will just flood the country with pakis while the youth either goes away or we are stuck the useless ones and the old retired fucks who allowed for this shit to happen, at best you have Madeira or the Açores to live in

as for the rest, my parents grinded their way up into a wage of around 20k each after taxes (they must be paying 1/3 of it in direct taxes), yet they managed to sustain a family of 3 and pay off the loans for an outstanding house whose only problem was the contractors of the 90´s being all a bunch of drunken retards with the inverse of a midas touch. the guy actually killed himself on account of how many lawsuits he had.

Yeah, forgot about that that.

Capital gains tax is 15% I think. But I can't say how that would effect your passive income, as even in other euro countries this might cause an issue in the sense that I have to assume that your passive income comes from US dividends? Cause then the US probably wants to tax you and even the country you live in wants some. For that in europe we have doubletaxation agreements.

Also in Greece there are cases when you don't even pay capital gains tax at all. I think if you sell stocks of a company of which you own less than 1%. So like daytraderheaven.

(Also why I think about going back)

Kek, I think Mallorca is more german

Ibiza is also a lot more rave + drug in contrast to alcohol on Mallorca.

46000 for a year is also enough in germany. Also depending on if you live in a crowded city or on the countryside.

I mean, that is like 3,8k a month. That is about the average grossincome, aka before taxes etc.

I can't judge on if that is enough to bring a family through as I have none.

My brother earns that much I think, and his wife also works halfway, and they are living fine from what I see with 2 children and a dog. They are renting a house though currently as they were not sure if to buy or what to do, so I think rent is about 1,7-1,8k or something for them.
My rent in a 78m2 flat is 700€. And I live in a city although at the outskirts.

Should be doable, especially if you save some more. Especially if you go to east germany which is allegedly cheaper and also has less immigrants which you might want, lol.

> Would Germany be possible?
I'm an american living in germany, trying to invest to retire. I'm aiming at €15k/year post-tax (~25% cap gains + dividends taxes here btw). That's for thrifty living in a shared home in a (relatively but not excessively) expensive city.

If you want to live here and retire early, you have to get a job here and a residence permit, and then stay for about two years to get a permanent residence permit (by which I mean your residence permit isn't connected to work anymore) or say five years to become a citizen. I'm aiming to become a citizen in case the AFD gets into power.

The citizenship law is probably changing this year, which means you won't have to give up your US citizenship to become Germany anymore.

Probably the hardest hurdle in the whole deal, if you're not poor, is learning the language. You need to get relatively fluent (B1 certification) to get citizenship and to get an early permanent residence permit.

Some keywords to look for in your own search: Blauekarte/Blue Card EU (residence permit you'll start with at your wage), Niederlassungserlaubnis (permanent residence permit), Einbürgerung (naturalization).

And if you ever move here and get confused, pay a lawyer. They're cheap and in my experience, pretty good.
