This business with was it $4Bn going into Bitcoin last week, yet the spot price going down, which we're told are because of OTC deals; got me thinking of the conversation about Link price being manipulated, how we were held in that channel for so long despite improving fundamentals. the best way is through official staking which you would have to monitor the staking pool contract to see when positions open (to get an idea, you would look on the transactions to see who initiated withdrawals- theres a unbond period so you would know more or less when position will open in the staking pool)

the other way would to do it through SDL and they would auto stake for you in a priority pool but not sure I would trust that route as they scammed people out of Linkpool before. probably best to try thirdparty services like stakefish if they have one

I actually have a theory about the bitcoin action (or rather lack of price action) around the ETF announcement. My guess is that the pump kicking off a bit early (October '23) was because insiders found out at that point that the ETF was going to get approved (~3 month early KEK). yeild would depend on how much you got stake and token price at time of withdrawal.

but in v0.1 max wallet was 7,000 @ 4.75% so thats about 332.5 LINK per full wallet.

so if you staked all 20k of your link tokens when v0.1 opened you would have seen a return of 950 link ( for more info when v0.1 opened price of link was ~$8, and now its about close to double that).

950 +20,000 link restaked in with the new 4.3% you would see an additional base of 905 link gained 2024 EOY @ whatever price link would be at, but speaking strictly link your stack would be @ ~21,855 link not bad for just having the asset lying around while waiting for $1000 or whatever your goal number is.

the most liquid market in the world is the US treasury market. It's about as good as cash. A lot of countries actually made deals and make payments in treasuries, because there is always a buyer and you can actually get a few points of return for holding treasureis.

Well the treasury has set up a buyback program:

so that if it happens they will step in and buy back any treasuries being sold that don't immeidately have a buyer.
But what are the consequences?
The way I see it, yields for those treasuries would have to go up and their prices would drastically drop (no demand for whatever reason), so the treasury would be able to effectively buy back its debt at a discount.
I think the better question to ask is why would there be a treasury liquidity crisis and my best guess (take with a grain of salt cuz I don't even fully undestand this) is that suddenly there would be a USD liquidity crysis and a few too many cunts would be selling their treasuries to get a hold of those sweet sweet US dollars. Who knows maybe a few global companies start bankrupting when their debt rolls over to high rates in 24 or maybe a few banks implode...no idea, but I do know that the US treasury is preparing to buy back treasuries.

JP Morgan has an internal blockchain but I haven’t heard much about other major banks and institutions doing the same outside of those partnering with Chainlink. i never looked into link staking because i consider link to be extremely valuable and when staking became available i certainly wasn't going to risk something as valuable as link to gain a few % in rewards.
Looking at it now if the rewards are still this low (sub 5%) I made the right decision. I've lived through wipe outs like mt gox and will not endanger a quarter mil worth of crypto that will likely reach a nice round mil this cycle just to gain a few measly k in "rewards".

honestly I can see it go either way. I'm not claiming with certainty that the USD will go up I simply provided a scenario where it does (treasuries being offloaded due to USD crunch leading to treasury liquidity crisis). I can provide an equally plausible scenario where we have a treasury liquidity crunch and the USD drops in value. I said it earlier that it's complicated enough that I'm not sure what will happen, but I am sure the US treasury is preparing for a treasury liquidity crisis. What precisely happens to the value of the USD which is supported by treasuries is a different story and I make no claim about knowing it.
Here's an example:
If the US treasuries market runs into trouble because of something other than a USD liquidity crunch then it would be perfectly reasonable to suggest that the USD which is underpinned by treasuries would loose value as the treasuries loose value.
That said I doubt this scenario. One of hte reasons I doubt it is because I do a lot of international work and I already see USD liquidity problems in certain countries I work in. Recently we had a client that couldn't find USD to pay a few million in invoics, we eventually had to make a deal with him paying half of it in Egyptial monopoly money (this was in Egypt). And this is not the only place we had this problem. So yea, don't be so quick to discount the USD....businesses and nations still need it to operate.
