It just did a poomp, I'm waiting for another pullback. I still won't go in too heavy until it gets back onto the summer upramp because at any point between now and then it can rug again. The last EIA projection I read said it is expected to average around $2.80 over the winter but the 2024 overall average has been revised down to $2.66 so you have to consider all of that and what the curve might look like in figuring your buy in points and weights, also considering that you pretty much never want to be holding a large position for more than maybe a few weeks at the absolute most. I'm only willing to take small risks until the Summer ramp after that Fall rug. It wasn't long ago that 2024 was projected to average around TREE FIDDY and now it probably won't be seeing that very much at all unless new shit adjusts everything.

Yes, I have, being that they're a European company and Europeans are by nature terrible at making software
But anyway, here's the policy:
>only one promo code, discount, or credit can apply to a box at a time. If you have both a promo code and a credit in your account, lucky you! Our Customer Care team will honor the promo code first.
What they do with gift cards is:
1. Use the gift card for the first box, great
2. Convert leftover gift card funds in to "credits"
3. Apply an automatic promo code to the second and subsequent boxes, this prevents the credits from being used until the promo expires
4. Customer gets charged whatever the automatic promo doesn't cover (in my case, $10 for s&h)
Like... that's pretty scammy behavior, especially since there's no way for me to remove that promo. If I get a gift card, I expect to be able to use the gift card before using my own money.
Whether this is intentional on their part, or just emergent behavior from terrible system design that happens to work in their favor... idk

Reunification is inevitable, and taiwan should not allow itself to be used by the greedy US as a puppet. Unfortunately Xi will likely have to teach them a hard lesson. War is not necessary and not wise and Xi knows this, taiwan will beg for unification soon enough when state owned chip fabs make TSM obsolete. Xi can implement a policy of ”you want to be on your own, ok see how you like it” and taiwan will soon learn that they are in fact completely reliant on china, and once america has stolen everything from TSM and has fabs in america they wont care about taiwan at all. China will be way ahead!

I'm a Califag so we have In N Out and In N Out's whole appeal is that you get an above average (but not amazing) burger with a good maillard crust but it's cheap as fuck. In 2016 when I was in high school living in the most expensive part of California in the Silicon Valley, a fucking double double was just $2.80. Now double doubles are a bit over $4. But still way cheaper than even McDicks for the amount of beef / burger you get.

The Russell 2000 index makes no sense to me, conceptually nor financially. It is the ultimate "crabs in a barrel" group of companies. The RUT describes itself as the lower 2/3 of the Russell 3000 in terms of market cap. As companies grow and start doing better they are no longer small caps and thus do not qualify to be a part of the 2000. What do they get replaced by? Either a company from the upper 1000 that tanked so much it fell from grace or an unproven company that bumped out an even worse, bottom of the barrel shitco. I typed all this out then saw that since the inception of IWM it has consistently beaten SPY in Bogleheading, until 2019. WTF happened in 2019 to put the RUT into a rut? I do like small caps for their upside potential but an index of them still does not make sense to me, so why did it consistently perform so well?

Honestly should the Fed say that there's no need for rate cuts given we're hiting ATH in the stock market and unemployment is at recorded lows?

I find the argument that "never has the fed hiked rates so fast" to be misleading given that we were coming out of ZIRP which is record low interest rates because of a combination of 2008 and Covid.

We're bellow historical rates AND during the banking crissis people were saying the fed had no room to cut, so I would argue we should hike rates even more.

All ZIRP led to was asset bubbles which priced out new home owners.

The fact that the market wants 6 cuts this year alone tells us that they're crack addicts begging for crack.

It's absurd because it's saying that the markets are too reliant on ZIRP which was an emergency move. We shouldn't go back to ZIRP because you have ATH in the stock market and record unemployment.

If there's a market crash because the Fed told the markets that we're going to hold and maybe increase the rates more for actual financial emergency then it's on the markets for creating a bubble. inverted yield curve (90+% accurate recession indicator, usually the recession starts after it goes back positive, but recessions have started while it was still negative, at least one iirc).
GDI negative yoy (100% accurate recession indicator, far more accurate at predicting recession than GDP).
unemployment crossed above its 24 month moving average in late 2023 (100% accurate recession indicator).
Conference Board index of leading economic indicators down at something like -5%, I don’t remember the number but it is at recession levels as well and also had a 100% track record of predicting recessions.

I mean unless there's hyperinflation they'll be revalued at some point in the future because the assets the EPS the dividends are growing. Doesn't matter if you buy a cheap stock and in crabs for 5 years and then proceeds to go up 200% in the next 3 years, and said stock has a dividend of 4% p.a. Dumb question from a 2017 HODLR: isn’t rooting for a BTC ETF the exact opposite of what BTC is about? (self.Bitcoin)

submitted 22 hours ago by brandishedlight
[removed]

>Not really, Hal Finey's vision was that the banks would eventually use BTC to settle between them. The 10 minute transaction time would be greatly quicker than anything they have, but not fast enough for many small transactions.
Additionally, having the US Gov't recognize and legitimize the asset, which is a huge deal.
Nothing about the ETF changes anything about how Bitcoin works.

>Anti-establishment? It's just the libertarian whackos having sound money, Austrian orgasms who see it that way. The rest of us who know the technology and the ways it can connect to portfolios of global assets see it very differently.

>Bitcoin has not been “anti establishment” lol people using the ETF believe in the value of the asset same as anyone else who self custodies their own. The etf gives easier access to the asset to millions of average people. It’s wonderful and further if anything democratizes the asset.

Its staged amateur porn, as in its not amateur. The guy you are responding to, watches porn with police costumes in them, and think thats how american police behave.

Or you could get educated and instead of banging every day to try and get her preggo, you save your semen for big loads during the 3 days a month she can actually become preggo

Generally unless there's a big and obvious crisis (think 2008, or COVID which we knew about for months before the market crashed) you can get away with being a slightly levered Boomer DCAing into SSO or QLD

Sometimes QQQ performs better, but I'd prefer VOO as a long-term investment. It's better diversified (it includes financial stocks and more stocks generally) and has lower turnover. So if you want more risk and more reward, I'd just increase the allocation to VOO (use leveraged ETFs if necessary).

I love people who are like
>when I make it big, I'll never work again
lol,
If you don't you'll be dead before a decade.
First, when you really are well set, things to work on start finding you.
Second, you will find things to work on, the only question will be why.
Beware anyone selling that you'll never have to work again if you get rich like they are. They aren't rich.
