Same as a silver or gold ETF. You can "buy" and sell it at spot with less than or no additional fees usually associated with it. Basically if you don't hold it you don't own it. It's for fools.

So it offers nothing, not a basket of crypto related stock etc. It just makes it to where I don’t have possession of the BTC that I exchange cash for.
The expectation is that people will make more speculative trades on the spot price of bitcoin i guess, however people will be making future contracts for bitcoin now and the whole thing is going to be papered over. WTF is this economy anyway? JFC
This is some serious joke, how will the authorities ensure and report that the underlying bitcoin is held in an institutions wallet. It won’t be just one wallet either, I know they will be trading it out to each other 24/7. Can I have the address?
I can take “Digital” possession of bitcoin on most trading platforms. Can I take Digital delivery of bitcoin based on the number of share I have? Will they also be alloted a percentage of ETH (does that count towards my ownership) to facilitate exchange. How much? Who at the SEC even has the knowledge to regulate it and how is it regulated when its not even legally recongized as a security or currency? What laws are the books to keep institutions accountable as it pertains to Cryptocurrency ETFs when there is no legal clarity?
Who asked for this? Why did they do it?

It's a whole new market where they can trade OTC with billions, snatch money from various public and private accounts, and prop themselves up by making massive profits swinging. This was the obvious next play. The "hacked" tweet by the sec chair Tuesday was so they could see the algos from the trading bots they don't control and ensure their funds got solid buyin pricing.

This is the beginning of the end for crypto. I've been saying it forever. The next step will be to pump their ETFs into oblivion when stocks inevitably begin to tank so normies will call their 401k managers asking if they can shift some of their money into a BTC ETF...the last real crypto bullrun will be recorded as having officially started yesterday.

>I want to hear from people who are not true believer in everything crypto, I figured this was the best place to ask.
I'd debate that this is the best place to ask, but it certainly is better than in a crypto echo chamber.
>>57259265
>Basically if you don't hold it you don't own it. It's for fools.
Yes and no. If everything collapses, you're fucked indeed, but so are you if you hold a traditional ETF or even bog standard stocks. Pro tip: you don't even get a paper for those anymore, it's all electronic and held in custody god knows where.
So looking at it from this angle, it's just your average financial product, and as such, if you believe the can's gonna get kicked down the road further and BTC is gonna rise further (again), it's probably a good diversification to add to your portfolio, without having to go through another KYC at some shady crypto exchange that'll either get hacked and leak your data or will turn out to be a fraud like that, what was it's name? SBF-exchange…
Personally, I have a few moneys in a BTC ETF (or whatever it is, it's around since a while in the EU) as I do in various others (including a Gold one…), but I also have some real BTC in my own wallet, bought anonimously, just as my physical gold and silver.
It's all about a good mix to be prepared for everything (Also, I'm prepared for Booba coins to moon, pic related!)

>Because silver is weak af against inflation
It’s interesting that everyones investment thesis has become beat inflation.
It wasn’t always like this, Sure, it was a consideration. People still did value plays. Silver seems like a value play to me. It hasn’t tracked well against inflation. But thats not really a concern, it looks like a good price point with a higher future value.
The media has people scurrying like rats to assets that have shown a steady increase over time. Whatever happened to making a good pick?
This hysteria has blinded people to traditional investing. Doesn’t anyone want to do more than beat inflation?
I lost a few bags in FTX because i forgot that I even had anything in there. It seems like the same shit can be done with stocks because you don’t even have it. No one feels bad for crypto kiddies and they just laugh. If it happens on the stock market no one is going to be laughing. Gotta get me a bag that they’d have to come to my home to take away from me. Isn’t that also utility fren?

To Survive deflation, the tide pulls back before the tsunami of inflation.
Also the inflation is entirely the fault of the federal reserve who has burdened us with debt, then charges us 1 trillion a year in usury interest. Then to pay that they raise the debt and print more to parasitically reward themselves. Previously the treasury issued debt free money and before that certificates redeemable in silver or gold.

If anyone remembers, a few weeks ago I posted I was trying to buy Gold Filled rings for under spot price of gold. I bought about 100 rings, for under a dollar each, from a large variety of sources, all claimed the rings were gold filled.
About 25% of them are actually gold filled and are stamped, about 10% have a Gold Plated stamp, and the rest have no stamp and can't be assumed to have any real gold in them.

Of the rings that showed up that are actually stamped as gold filled, after removing the stones the and weighing them they should have a few dollars of gold in them.

For the second round of purchases getting 100 more, but just from the sources that had real stamped rings in the first round.

start a chat with an agent to have the issue escalated. I had the same issue yesterday when I flagged this 1oz "5" dollar weirdly shaped liz head massively spaced radial lined golden bar, I mean coin. Got a response that it did not violate ebay policy (even though its a clear counterfeit). I started a chat and was able to provide more information to the agent. The agent said it would be 2 days before any action would be taken. The ad was promptly taken down an hour or so later. They haven't banned the seller though, so even if you get the ad removed, the seller could repost.

The fuckers wanted basically a half a tonne purchase from me. They wanted me to risk 35k on their asses during a bear market, Fuck that. Then I got another dealer telling me that silver is silver and the brand of bar doesn't matter. So I say 'If that is the case, I would like 2 kilo's of APMEX in general rounds. We are no longer dealing with people. The people that won't believe in what is happening right before their eyes are completely lost.
They will soon become our enemies even though they might have been our friends a moment before.
The time of further separation and division is coming.
They aren't worthy of seeing any truth, it's been presented to them over and over, and yet many of them still persist. It wont be tomorrow, and that's as far as many of their addled brains will go.
When they see the truth it will be a facsimile, they will never see anything because they can't. I can't help but appear sanctimonious when discussing lower life forms, and they will resent me for that.
Many of us did our best to save them, stick to yourselves, we will know each other.
It's impossible to prevent every sling and arrow that would get thrown my way for saying something so offensive about the majority of people. And so I can't. I can say that when you see a consensus of any kind being formed that you immediately call it into question. Many of you have been trained to discount arguments with one-liner adhomes, that is not a machismo aspect of your personality, its been bred into you. Those like you are prone to manipulation. It isn't a bulwark against tyranny. It's a bulwark against free thought. You have been betrayed, by your own propensity to protect tradition by adopting a weakened ideology that breeds consensus rather than thought. You have it in you to break free, but you have been poisoned.
Those that cannot read and understand complete context or complex feeling reply with a one liner as a defense mechanism, because they've shit and piss all over this website. And saying anything to them is a slight. I don't really care to reach those that reply. If YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. We will have to rally around each other.

>> No.57268408

The plebians will wax poetically about those who wax poetic, will feign disinterest toward those who show interest in a cause. It's there inability to engage in a cause at any complex level that causes them to lash out against those that take any other approach than that simple approach to a topic that they take.

Any discussion of higher level reasoning is discounted as schizo, its an adhominen to dismiss their ability to reason. anything unusual or unorthodox is foreign to them, because they are trained to combat disagreement in the way that they are trained. Sure, Loquacious some may be, but those themselves have already settled into their line of thinking and defend it from a fortress of their own making, any knowledge they gained, the are not freewheeling or wheeling to adapt.
Again, I think of the detractors, They will say, why are you so verbose, why are you not like us, to so easily discount an idea in so few words, as we are.
I can't speak to your level. Even I pretend when I do so. And only hope to scrape the top of those of you out there, who are capable.
I seem pretentious saying this, but years of experience and being open and seeing things repeated over and over, and to the uninitiated this also seems like a repetition because they see and do not see, hear and do not hear. !

>> No.57268439

They will say, you are not in the right place to discuss these things.
Oh how dare you speak out of place. We are conducting very important business matters here!
You are not, and have not. You are following the steps laid before you and you are so patient and obedient in doing so you hate anyone who would disrupt you in your hypnotism.
Why would one man come here and say these things, unless his soul was screaming it out loud, and by what authority would he claim over any other man, that his words should be taken as more serious than any other.
I claim seriousness, but in an open forum you are allowed to mislead the easily mislead with short, abrupt, and crude comments, to lead the short abrupt and crude people which populate the majority of this board, this general, and this planet. It is no harm to my ego that you call me crazy or insane, but it is a harm to your ego that I dare speak or intrude in your crude space. I've been shit on before, who would have so much to say, except for someone completely insane, why would they not merely repeat the message of the group. YOU ARE NOT ONE OF US.
It's that I don't like. It's not the disagreeing, I disagree every day. We all do. It's the denouncing of anyone that disagrees with you. I know that some of you have it in you to break that spell. If you don't, I do not care. If you do. and genuinely. I have found a friend. And have found a few friends here in my time. And I see the insanity, in each of us. But it is not.

>> No.57268477

Like many of my kind, the outpouring can continue as long as we are willing, It's like the people of old that would go away and come back and flap their tongues, and people would interpret that as they would. And so even on the internet it is so, you sit and you are to ponder, the uninterruptible content of our unstoppable ponderance. Perhaps in the end you are the true judge of what it is that I speak. the quorum the majority, it flows out of me not effortlessly but unrelenting. and I do feel that time is coming to an end. It won't be from me or the others like me here that you hear this message, we will be silenced and thrown away, you aren't expected to believe me whole sale but I would expect you to hear me and to consider. If it does sound like nonsense of course I believe you are stupid. Which you are, and would be, if you listened and disagreed I wouldn't take any offense.
My Dear Audience, as I dare to entertain you, to provoke your mind with uncomfortable feelings, to prod at your ego as it clashes against mine, take what you can from my words, rallying against me won't do anything. I'm unrelenting. I might meet my unrelenting match. If I'm not doing anything, then I am being an open book. And it can be disturbing to peer into a book, which often conceals with a forward, and a cover, and hides its content among headers, and sub headers and chapters and so on.

>> No.57268505

The great thing about a book is that you cannot respond, or ask questions. I know that in the modern day, it seems like a tyranny that just anyone with their stupid thought or opinion for the sake can interrupt and by right they should be able to interrupt anyone because they presume the same right to speak as the orator and presume to have at least the same value as the orator, but they often don't.
I know that I'm someone in the middle of the street, to you a person in a forum about "precious metals", but it is merely a quiet street corner of the internet where I can speak. I can often do so uninterrupted, and I can have my small, and mostly silent audience. It's a great gift to be able to have that, when everyone, even the very stupid suppose that they should also have word, and often repeat. Thank you, good night.

They do it by spamming nonsense and making the overarching discussion incoherent and full of noise. They can basically make the place an uninviting place to stick around. I tried that, twice in fact and got connected to a "sar please do not redeem". Said they'd look into it and the item is still up for bid. I don't care that people are selling fakes, but people are getting scammed because they think they're getting a real sovereign. Guy even admits it's a replica in the description, but of course the title doesn't say anything because he wants people to bid on it. I only noticed because he bid on some of my coins and I looked at his feedback and all he does is sell fake coins.

Then again, if you don't read the full description maybe you deserve to get scammed?

Managed to sell my coins at least after pruning my collection. Paid just under £800 for them so even after fees its a nice little profit. Wondering if I should sell all the coins in my collection that I massively over-paid for.
