>Is there any concern of heavy metals becoming vaporized?
Not in a wet process, no. There really shouldn't be in a fire process either.

the respirator is just emergency equipment though. You shouldn't really ever encounter acid gasses in a mining or refining process. The respirator is for in case the hood fan stops working, which is almost impossible with dual fans, battery and generator backup, etc. But if for some reason the vent fans stop working the respirator just gives you a few minutes to sound the alarm and clear the building.

obviously we don't shut down an entire operation for a small chemical spill, but toxic gasses pouring out of the hood would clear the building and bring in EMS.

Serious question here do yall folx get off on losing money? Like you were warned that you would lose 80% if you bought silver shitcoins and you bought them anyway ND surprise surprise you lost 80% and all it does is go down and down.

If you wanted to make money you could just have bought bitcoin it goes up 2 % or 7% everyday and will triple in 2 months guaranteed.

Why do you boomers hate yourself and want to be poor by buying garbage rocks instead of magic internet money?

Why do byzantine coins seems so unliked in the numismatic world? Due to the goofy designs? Lack of perceived historic interest from the post fall of Rome era?

Lately i've been tracking sales of byzantine gold solidus (solidi for plural?) on ebay out of curiosity, and believe it or not, some of the cheapest stuff is selling only slightly above spot (like +15/20%), comparable to premiums you'd see on mass produced 1900 US gold coins.. for 1500 years old gold coins i found this quite "shocking". Of course it's not all coins, some even carry big premiooms, but still.. i find this odd, so there is probably something i'm missing.

Wont blame you for that, i spent nearly half my life high on weed, started at 14yo. Stopped cold nearly 5 years ago after the judge revoked my licence and took away my car for yet another pot DUI, i had enough of being cops' paypig and the permanent paranoia from carrying (couldn't help my /biz/ side, i HAD to deal kek), so i said "fuck it, you win".

And ever since i feel like an empty shell, and much, much dumber. I was always being told stopping would remove the brainfog and my brain would go in boosted mode, and the exact opposite occured. I legit felt like i lost 25IQ points. But the worst part have been the loss of strong emotions (in the sense of being less passionate) and "mental vitality", i now live the NPC dream.
Maybe i smoked for too long and my brain permanently rewired itself to live with a big inflow of tetrahydrocannabinol, who knows...

All this to say, drug is bad, you should stop!

Few of us, yes. But most anons here aren't with a mentality of flipping stuff, they stack to have a security net who can't be seized with just a click of a mouse from banking institutions/the government. And can't be devalued to oblivion by desperate (((modern monetary policies))).
Once you have your PMs in your hands, it's here to stay, and it will save your ass when the bad times inevitably rear it's ugly head.

I travel a lot and when I see stuff I like i just buy it, although in this instance I really was hunting for some pre-1933 and I only have a few $5 coins, so I decided to spend some money and buy them.
I've spent 20000 hours of my life on economics, finance and worrying about making money (27 yrs old), and right now i'm blessed to be able to buy 5000 bucks worth of metal but I also am frugal and save in other ways (I say frugal but I literally eat out every meal so im kind of a piece of shit and what I mean is that I fly cheap, don't stay in expensive airbnb or anything like that...
I have like 10k a month hit the bank after tax and I spend maybe 2k of that consistently on my standard of living.
I'm kind of rationalizing it but it's a form of saving and they're fucking awesome. I buy tens of thousands of dollars of junk silver and low premium silver in Canada from a coin seller who gives it me to for 2-4% premium, and i've even bought proof gold for SPOT, because he was still making money on it. This is special.

Me. After weighing the realities that the globe is saturated in debts and that commodity prices have occasional 10x price spikes I think it is wise to keep a sizeable portion of your wealth in PMs. Even small contributions like 10oz a month bagging you a modest 10x means you are stashing away $2500 worth of purchasing power at some point.
I keep an ear to the ground on people like shtf tier stackers such as Bix Weir and also billionaire investors such as Rick Rule and try to forumulate opinions on what is happening. Plenty of financiers are not alarmists and invest in mining companies seeking profit. Rick Rule stated he only keeps a small portfion of his fortune in PMs which is probably more than enough to do quite well. Compared to your average wagie, 2% of my net worth is nothing compared to him. I take that in stride and err on the side of caution and want enough PMs to wagmi when shit turns south while also being exposed to upside potential of commodity producers. I honestly don't think Bix is even wrong on everything just imploding with nations all over the world nationalizing their resources.
Sure is fun to think about though.

The amount of investible silver is padded with derivatives and paper silver such as SLV. This increases the supply for the sake of portfolio management. But real world commodities and supply/demand.
Also, the way derivatives work it takes a LOT of capital to get tied up in investing in the metal which regularly gets SLAMMED in order to blow out your margin accounts. It's controlled and not profitable for outsiders. And silver being such a tiny market it is the lever used to manage all commodity prices.
Silver is a store of value not cornered by banks. The ponzi collapses when the masses start working and wanting to store their value in real commodities instead of demand-units known as currency. It's like people waking up from a slumber and asking to draw-down on the ponzi that actually relies on holding ALL of our pent up demand in limbo such as bank deposits, 401ks and insurance. How much of your paycheck gets tucked away and given back to the Feds, Wallstreet or insurance? How much money goes towards finance consumption such as cars, housing and education? This economy can provide you services and snacks and treats made from renewable foodstuffs. But can we all store our wealth in physical value?
Not a chance.

IIRC, you bought these from a store that takes in odds and ends from the public. I'm guessing someone was gifted or inherited the thing, or it was burgled, and turned in for cash. The store had no idea what they got, didn't know how to search for it, and figured it was another generic piece that some obscure mint made for a loony organization. They probably feel good about selling it for a few pounds over what they bought it for.

In Jim Rickards book on gold he mentions discussing with a banker that rising interest rates was putting some central banks underwater if their assets were properly valued. And his response basically referred to the fact that although debt instruments may be underwater, they all still have gold which can also be valued. All of the debts get wiped clear simialar to what happened in the 1930s when gold was revalued. The system forcibly injected inflation into a deflationary depression by revaluing gold. Something similar will happen but this time people don't have any gold. So tapping into this "fix" might not even work and it could be a medicine that is fatal.

But those 10€ coins seem like a really interesting option. Besides the (small) chance that my BU (or whatever grade that is in english) lucky draw might fetch a numismatic premium at some point, they're also lower premium than fresh bullion and they also carry the, you could call it, anti-/pmg/ insurance. I.e. if IQdelet is indeed right and silver becomes worthless, because our current system is indeed sustainable, those can always be spent at face value, so unlike a random 1Oz coin, they won't become worthless!

What I don't understand about this is if you have warehouses full of Nickel then you can easily trace this back to receipts and batch numbers and figure out what scoundrel was selling you literal rocks. But the story just sort of dies. This is a clear case of accounting fraud. I think they let a high powered client buy up the inventory in secret. Some slurped up a massive cache of a very limited base metal which means someone with enough sway to deal with JPM made this trade. And not only that, JPM could have ended up on the losing end of the deal. Which could potentially mean that ALL of the banks are anticipating an implosion. One of the premier flagships of the U.S. financial hegemon is being taken to the chop shop and picked apart in secret. What does that tell you? This is not as innocuous as it appears.

The exact reason is a good question. We all know it was the result of the 2008 great financial crash, but what was it specifically that caused it to spike is anyone's guess. Judging all the other currencies around the same time it looks like it was a mini global crack-up boom. If I am right then the entire western financial system can implode if just one western county defaults. All those US Dollars nations are holding could light the spark if BRICS picks up enough steam in the near future.

I guarantee you he has some source like a flea market or garage sales or estate auctions where he is getting the silver car below spot price. Either that or it’s great grandpa’s stash he’s personally selling off.

Between those two options I’ve name like 90% of coin shops. Last 10% haggle both ways and make the least amount of money.

They could have been inherited, bought secondhand in the past when silver was significantly cheaper, or maybe the seller is a dealer who buys collections (below spot) to flip, i see nothing unusual there.

Yeh makes sense, he usually lists 50 coins a week like clockwork and they're always rather obscure ones so must be buying them a lot cheaper. I'll keep slurping regardless, aim is to hit 500 oz this year.

If he’s in an urban center foot traffic alone and low enough offers could be how he’s getting those coins. If it’s anything but buying from walk-ins most shops won’t reveal their secret. That special source is valuable and I would cherish them, anon. I have both an online and local shop that I love dearly.

It is undecided if they will be able to pull this off. The service economy we built is extremely undercapitalized and the infrastructure depreciation will be a serious drag on the economy forever. I bet people will be getting paid and desperately trying to put it into ANYTHING else for probably the next half century.
There is no telling whether the government can get the economy humming along again.

If the globe is undercapitalized I am not sure you want to be holding crypto as a store of value. Precious metals are infused with energy and labor as a finished product. Crypto is a function of liquidity and would not have any value without cheap money. In the event of a major sell off of real assets people will be liquidating crypto faster than their tulip bulbs. The U.S. has $250TN in unfunded liabilities. That means there is an extreme shortage of capital. Crypto will have ZERO purchasing power in that environment.

IQ is actually one of our regulars here. I'll let you guys figure out which one. Sometimes he posts in favor of silver, sometimes he fuds. Depends how active the thread is. Every time I blow up a thread he goes away and is replaced by a regular stacker.

every time I abandon thread and let it be, he shows back up and the regular stacker disappears. He's always here, he's just not always IQDELET. The lore is fun, but the truth is he's just one of you guys trolling.
