I am 27 and $67,000 in debt between personal loans, student loans and credit cards.
I don't know where it went wrong. I mean, I still eat 3 times a day, make decent money but I am perpetually trapped in debt.
I've never missed a payment but it sure does feel like a lonely affair.

How is everyone else faring? Will 2024 be crazy financially?

I'm 35 and actually closer to $450k. My car loan is 1.38% APR, mortgage is 2.75%, and credit card debt is actually $15k at 0% until next year. I'm carefully debtmaxxing to milk these banks for as long as possible.

Based debt chads
I’m 39 and have $250k mortgage and about $30k in credit card debt. I have $50k in crypto though. Fuck bank Jews.

I have $900k in crypto and have no intentions of paying any debts off earlier than I have to.

How do you deal with it mentally having such a large number hanging over your head?
I can buy a home I just don't want to increase my debt to income ratio.
It's impossible to make a living in the US since prices are rising. My debt is a deficit on life really.

Hope it gets better, fren. Maybe I'm too honest. Probably why I feel this way.

I'm guessing the direction of the thread will essentially lead to this question: how much longer is any of this debt sustainable? 1971 was the last year of backed currencies. Idk if I should just debt max and pay minimum payments or just default. Idk what's the best course. I never knew what it meant to be an adult but it's just to be a worker bee till I drop to service my debt like a zombie company.

Think of debt as leverage. It gives you quicker access to a career or asset (home, investments, free cash, etc.) that will go up in value over time at a higher percentage rate than your debt interest. Hopefully you're not retarded enough to have interest on your credit cards. That's not good debt.

27 also but I have 130k in liquidity with zero debt. Left College at 21 and fell ass backwards into a gov job and now make close to 90k/yr.

Sometimes I'm grateful for what I have but other times I feel like I'm still behind many others in my age bracket who are buying houses and having kids

Same boat here anon. Make comfy money, not enough to really plow it into investments though. Also GF and I poor spending habits eats the money.

I'm 32 with $0.00 debt.

You guys are retarded: How stupid do you have to be to have bad debt (i.e. credit cards)?

it started with school. Then my parents stopped supporting me. Couldn't find a decent paying job. The banks essentially became my parents. I needed braces, a car, food in my stomach.
Shit got out of control my guy. Now I stare down the barrel everyday with a kid on the way.
The American dream really is dead. We're all financial zombies.
