I like Alpha Metallurgical Resources.
I bought 2000 shares when they were about $5 apiece during the 2020 crash.
Just today they hit another new all-time high of $354 per share.
I think they'll go over $400, though I am not shilling the stock for self-gain (have already made a ton), and I wouldn't encourage others to buy in at these prices.
But pure play metallurgical coal is going nowhere anytime soon, as far as the so called "coal phase out" goes. Met coal will be around for the rest of our lives at the least.

Bought more Homerun Resources today and I will buy more in the future if it doesn't run away too far.
This is going to become a huge solar and energy storage manufacturer along with being a solar sand seller in Brazil.
Best part is that they'll use their own resource that doesn't even need a real mine since it's just sitting on the surface, so it's all piss cheap for them to pull off.
100-200x stock in the next 5-10 years.

Alpha Metallurgical Resources might be a decent bet. I could see them reaching $400 per share soon, a 20% gain, approximately, from where they are now. Their business is booming. Of course I have no crystal ball, but they are a good company with good people.
But you might be looking for more than just 20% gains. In that case, I can't really offer advice as far as potential coal miners to choose.

Definitely. I have enough to retire relatively comfortably if I wanted, and I don't need much to be happy. So I don't take big risks anymore.
But you never know with the medical system in the U.S.; it could eat you alive if you or a loved one ended up with a long term disease that required big out of pocket payments.
So I'll keep working -- also because I love going underground anyway.

Easy for Noobs to learn for themselves instead of asking us the basic questions every thread.

>Split YouTube channels between mining and commentary

Not relevant and doomerism, also already included in news sources. Kept the Junior Miner news because this is a miner thread.

I want to condense the Austrian economics some as well. Still need it but the bottom half is just a whole lot of spam and links in my opinion.

What does everyone think and what else should be added or changed?

Someone is starting a gold mine in Afghanistan who wants to get on a watch list and try to invest in Afghanistan?

A quick rundown. A British travel blogger goes on crazy adventures. He ends up in Afghanistan and makes friends with the Taliban. He is starting a gold mining business in Afghanistan.

Anyone know how good afghanistan gold mining is and if it's even possible to invest or start a mine there?

a legally "gray" mining operation in Peru or French Guiana, cant recall which. There are hundreds of these sorts of operations scattered across the amazon, some more legal than others. placer gold, the setup behind him is a "highbanker" likely setup to a dredge off in the bush. You see these setups all over central and south america. Here's a larger setup from Guyana, basically you have a huge 4-8 inch pump setup in a sump, hydraulic cannons blast down gravels into the sump where its sucked up and dumped into long, tall sluice box setups high on the hills. The gold their after is as fine as icing sugar, so they use mercury copper traps, and duplex jigs to catch every last micron of gold dust. These operations leave a blasted wasteland in their wake, and are often mostly operated by cartels or gangs.

these boats operate independently from the cartels, but are funded / backed by them. Each boat has its own captain and core crew, with a detachment of guys from the cartels acting as security and muscle against rival crews. Often these boats are a hundred meters plus long, acting as both living quarters, mining rig, and micro community that makes its way up and down the river depending on the season. There is a lot of neat info on them, and how they bribe officials in multiple nations they pass through to keep operating.

Not sure why you took out Macro Voices, probably the podcast with the highest quality guests and commentary in general. I think you took out Eurodollar University too, which is odd since Jeff offers top-tier daily updates on global dollar funding markets and macro.

I would add the Decouple podcast and the Market Huddle, although the latter focuses more on general market commentary and options strategies although they cover commodities a lot. Saxo Market Call is also another excellent daily podcast with leading commodities expert Ole Hansen, but I liked the show better when Tom Hardy was the main guy desu.

So basically re-add Macro Voices and Eurodollar University, definitely consider Decouple and Saxo and the others are good since they appeal to alot of guests and posters.

I originally helped with the podcast section of CMMG when we debuted, so I’m just confused as to why some great resources were removed or omitted

In terms of podcasts or channels, I’m pretty much tapped out, but I’m sure there’s more out there. The trick is keeping the most prevalent ones in the OP as to not flood people with too many.

I think there’s a few more geology-specific resources that could be added, maybe a few links to USGS pdfs that pertain to mining or geologic topics.

Also we don’t seem to focus much on shipping/ cargo rates and trade. There’s websites that offer great info for free on shipping markets. I think Andy from FV is into shipping companies, as they offer insights and clues into global trade flows that could have bearing on commodity prices.

Also with Mike Maloney, I would directly link to the beginning of “the history of money” or whatever the series is called and allow new people to develop an understanding of sound money from there, as it does a great job.

Now something like this, I’m trying to recall what happened last time when Zaphorizha was threatened by war.. I think there was a broad-based sell off in uranium equities. I would have to find the exact date of the attack and then locate the date on the URNM chart

Oil on the other hand having a great morning (while metals get shafted by a pumping DXY), looking ready to take another stab at the downtrend line/45dma/10wma and bounce out of the oversold condition, as is normal in the advancing stage of the IC.

Hope you niggers bought oil when I called the bottom within roughly a dollar.

Yes.
It's dead money at least until they get the environmental permits going and they said it'll be until the middle of this year until they get clarity on the situation.
If they say it'll be until the summer when they know what's going on with the permitting, it might be a year or more until those permits have been figured out.
Might even be dead money with that info, because really what this will move with is the funding and that subject might be entirely dependent on the macro situation with rates and such.
After all this kind of a company isn't exactly in a hurry to move with some global commodity price increases like PMs do.

I don't see these guys going anywhere but either slowly down or sideways for at least a year.
This is why I sold out of it a while ago.
Of course it's entirely possible that if commodities in general start moving up, the algos are going to make the price track rest of the market, so there's always that possibility for it to move.
But fundamentals for now are in that boring waiting game mode that could go on for a year or even two from here. There's zero hype or interest that can be generated in this situation.

I have a neighbor who bought a car from a dealership. After a couple years, it broke down -- still under warranty. So the dealer took the car in to fix it and gave her an EV as a loaner.
The EV took over an hour at the station to charge and got about 200 miles range. She hated the car.
The technology for widespread EV use just isn't there yet. They can't compete with ICE vehicles.

I think platinum is worth it.
Hydrogen is going to be a massive meme field judging by how much the green psychos push it and how many global projects are being built, so platinum is likely going to go absolutely apeshit as it's needed in the electrolyzers.
