hey, i'm the guy who made that image and i realized that i did the math wrong on ICP's transaction fee. A transaction on ICP costs 0.0001 ICP, so the fee is actually one tenth of one cent. here's the revised version. A transaction on ICP at today's prices is roughly 4000 times cheaper than avax when it was running 1000 tps.

Why do you insist on using this shitcoin with high fees? The actual bitcoin forked off years ago. You core folks get to enjoy the nice pumpy prices but the high network fees is the price you pay. Just leave your coins on the exchange. You don't care about self custody anyways, right?

managed to time it right with a price and volume drop boxing day. 75sat/byte for $4, took about an hour. txs boomed since which is likely due to post christmas funding. Time of day also plays a big factor but will likely be a few days till fees come down again depending on price action.

The fees are way lower like 6 usd tx passing, also exchanges do many transacitons in a single one to many users.

They are just collecting shekels on an insane level with the excuse of fees.

>>57137488
it is because it's still cheaper than swift and has 0 account maintance costs or third party risks.

The high fees are actually not bad, what is bad is that most stuck tx have a few sats fees and the exchanges retarded algorithms keep outbiding each other upwards when the high fees happen.

We seen this in january 2018 mempool was almost empty but avg fee was like 30 usd per tx because exchanges keep outbiding each other.

I understand that they are trying to make stuff normie tolerable and that in eth failed tx still pay fee, but for BTC before 2018 exchanges let you select the tx fee so you could do a cheap tx knowing it would confirm in days which prevented the whole outbiding each other shit they are doing now.

That's because prior to the runup to 19k most BTC transactions could still be done with a low fee and expect to be be on a block at least within an hour or so. Since then exchanges had to move to a different model because the last thing they need is customers blowing them up on socials and submitting tickets over low fee BTC transactions that take a week to get into a block.

BTC is between a rock and a hard place. Ordinals are a black swan event. They can't hardfork because it blows up their narrative and they can't allow ordinals to continue because the mempool is at all time highs outside of a roaring bull market.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
