Panama uses the USD but clearly its impossible for Argentina to do the same because the jews, er I mean (((experts))) say so.

It's like a Canadian toonie but worth even less. Supposedly the Balboa is pegged to the USD. Basically that's a $1 coin, which is something the United States should have, because $1 bills are retarded

Why are $1 coins good, but $1 bills not?

Coins stay in circulation much much longer and don't experience anywhere near the same deterioration - so it's cheaper to mint and more sustainable. From the consumer side, it's more convenient for small purchases- like getting your morning coffee, buying something from a vending machine, or maybe paying a bridge toll, you don't need to pull out your wallet or deal with a shitty crumpled note in your pocket. The us mint actually really wants to change over, but they've fucked up each of the last 5-6 attempts at curculating $1 coins in the past 50-60 years, so now a lot of the population isn't really open to the idea. The most recent attempt was in 2000/2001 when they wanted to mint 770m Sacagawea dollars, but people sperged out and now they only mint a few million per year for coin nerds.

The only way the US could make a $1 coin is to put edges on it, and then it would tear holes in pockets. Otherwise cashiers would complain it was taking too long to count change accurately.

As I said, the US mint constantly fucks up their $1 designs. All they need to do is rip off the Loonie which already works very well in Canada and has for a long time. American quarters, nickels and dimes are already interchangeable with Canadian coinage in terms of weight & dimensions, so they might as well keep that going.

The US does have $1 coins but people don't use them for some reason even though they're superior to crusty and disgusting $1 bills. I got a bunch from the bank and pay my bus fair with them. Everyone reading this should to the same

Likewise with me I would normally have about 10% of my pennies be American. But I haven't touched a penny in years, and I'm glad they're gone.

From a collectors perspective they're neat, and the Canadian Mint still occasionally does silver or gold pennies for collectors/investors, but during everyday usage it's been nice not carrying them sound, especially since you'd receive alot more of them than you'd ever spend and they would just end up being random pocket clutter. I would normally end up with a fishbowl full of pennies each year that I would roll and deposit... for like $12. Also there's the part about them costing more then a cent to make which is retarded.

Keep in mind that debasement means the metal was too valuable to be keptnin circulation on par with the fiat printed. Copper is worth about 3x. 100 copper pennies to a silver dollar?

I should've gone whoring in Panama City last month but there were stupid protests and road closures going on. I had to cancel everything and do a chargeback on my credit card to get my money back from Airbnb.
