I never ate onions before and I'm 35 years old and started eating them. I'm really liking them and feeling more robust. More people should eat these, and I think they will.

>Understanding a Crack-Up Boom
>The crack-up boom develops out the same process of credit expansion and the resulting distortion of the economy that occurs during the normal boom phase of Austrian business cycle theory. In the crack-up boom, the central bank attempts to sustain the boom indefinitely without regard to consequences, such as inflation and asset price bubbles. The problem comes when the government continuously pours more and more money, injecting it into the economy to give it a short-term boost, which eventually triggers a fundamental breakdown in the economy. In their efforts to prevent any downturn in the economy, monetary authorities continue to expand the supply of money and credit at an accelerating pace and avoid turning off the taps of money supply until it is too late.
>In Austrian business cycle theory, in the normal course of an economic boom driven by the expansion of money and credit the structure of the economy becomes distorted in ways that eventually result in shortages of various commodities and types of labor, which then lead to increasing consumer price inflation. The rising prices and limited availability of necessary inputs and labor put pressure on businesses and causes a rash of failures of various investment projects and business bankruptcies. In ABCT this is known as the real resource crunch, which triggers the turning point in the economy from boom to bust.

>>57127740
>As this crisis point approaches, the central bank has a choice: either to accelerate the expansion of the money supply in order to try to help businesses pay for the increasing prices and wages they are faced with and delay the recession, or to refrain from doing so at the risk of allowing some businesses to fail, asset prices to fall, and disinflation (and possibly a recession or depression) to occur. The crack-up boom occurs when the central bank chooses and sticks with the first option.
>Economist Friedrich Hayek famously described this situation as like grabbing a "tiger by the tail."3 Once the central bank decides to accelerate the process of credit expansion and inflation in order to head off any recession risk, then it continually faces the same choice of either accelerating the process further or facing an even greater risk of recession as distortions build in the real economy.
>As part of this process, consumer prices rise at an accelerating rate. Based on current price increases and market participants' understanding of central bank policy, consumer expectations of future inflation also rise. These create positive feedback that leads to accelerating price inflation that can far outstrip the rate of central bank money expansion and become what is then known as hyperinflation.

>History of the Crack-Up Boom
>In the early 1920s, von Mises witnessed and decried hyperinflation in his native Austria and neighboring Germany.5 Von Mises played an instrumental role in helping Austria to avoid a crack-up boom but could do nothing but sit back and watch as the German Reichsmark collapsed one year later. He was adamant that not keeping credit expansion in check could pave the way for a deadlier dose of hyperinflation that would eventually bring the economy to its knees.
>Examples of a Crack-Up Boom
>Several economies, other than Germany, have caved in after a period of credit expansion and hyperinflation, including Argentina, Russia, Yugoslavia, and Zimbabwe.2 A more recent example is Venezuela. Years of corruption and misfiring government policies have led the South American country's economy to collapse in a drastic fashion. As a result, millions of Venezuelans face poverty, food shortages, and blackouts.6 According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Venezuela's economy contracted by over 35% between 2013 and 2017. Rampant inflation hasn't helped.
>By mid-2019, inflation in the country was reported to be as high as 10 million percent, meaning that a product that once cost the equivalent of one bolivar went on to cost the equivalent of 10 million bolivars.7 Things have gotten so bad that a monthly salary in Venezuela was reportedly not enough to even cover the cost of a single gallon of milk.

Why does every question have to have a partisan answer? Things are fucked nowadays and if you try and pinpoint a time, the causes and the conjecture in which it happened instead of trying to get a scapegoat like the jews or the greedy bankers you can get a clear vision of the present
And anyone who can write something "writes history" since Lucien Fevre wrote the "anals" after WW2.

Now as for the rest, how did 40 hours help in reducing unemployment? I think it did work that way in France, because one of their arguments in the 19th and 20th century regarding a establishing fixed weekly hours for labour was that it created a labour shortage, but in the US after 1929 it just made businessman not hire anyone and you had high unemployment rates and shit underpaid jobs where you´d spend half your income in counterfit rum and cigars to be ready for your second job

Bro just read Ray Dalio. But read it unironically. You are missing a whole bunch of stuff, particularly what people do when experiencing hyperinflation, or how, inversely, hyperinflation helps domestic exports (temporarily) because everything is eventually about physical goods or services that increase physical goods, or how people attempt to escape hyperinflation by buying foreign currencies.

Right now doesn't seem to be like the right time to be suggesting this, as our so called 'Imminent and significant' payment from Rivada has yet to materialize or has been shunted to the new year's so as not to be taxed as this year's income, but investing in LLAP would give you exposure to Lockheed Martin. And despite the tomfoolery and flim flaming about this subject, the price of LLAP did not plummet like it did with the initial news of the payment being missed or that fake and since removed wall street journal article claiming the business was for sale. We are down a bit since our mid week high, but we have sunk much lower on much weaker news. The fact that the share price is what it is shows that there are people in the know holding and quite frankly I'm disappointed there wasn't any panic selling as I wanted to purchase more without raising my average.
I will admit though, the CEO is a cookie head and we all have egg on our face for parroting his twitter rumors.

I can't believe this absolute travesty, man! Aquabounty, seriously? Messing with the sacred salmon genetics like it's some kind of twisted experiment. What happened to respecting the natural order? God made those fish with a blueprint, and now we're throwing it out the window for what? A few bucks on the stock market? It's an outrage, a slap in the face to everything holy!

And now, some corporate geniuses think they can just play Frankenstein with them? It's a downright betrayal of nature, and I can't fathom how anyone can be okay with this madness.

The stock market may be a rollercoaster, but this genetic tinkering is like strapping ourselves to a rocket headed straight into chaos. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? We're messing with forces beyond our comprehension, and it's infuriating that the pursuit of profit is driving us to such extremes. The maximum return for a dollar cost average strategy is, I believe, 2x leverage on the S&P. It's S&P or Nasdaq, I don't recall which performed better over how many years. With 2x leverage there are going to be periods where you eat a nasty looking drawdown. The critical thing with that is not to change anything. Keep buying on schedule, NEVER panic sell.
The point of more active trading is to gamble greater risk for potentially more short term gains. I swing trade because I don't normally lose to the S&P over the course of a year by much. I might not beat it every time but I won't be far off. Anyway this all depends on your patience, how much you want to watch the lines move, and how much you want to yolo. Successful yoloers will tell you gambling is best. They believe this because they succeeded. I will not say they're wrong.

If I wanted to get into stocks, how much money would I need to start seeing good gains?

Actually I guess I get it. There's nothing sadder than seeing a 60+ year old working in a grocery store or some shit. I can't imagine being that. Even if it's just to avoid that horror, it's worth even just getting a voo a month over 30 years. Still boring.

There's nothing wrong with doing both simultaneously. Have a chunk of money for your short term gambles and another goes in to boomer investing with decades timeline.

I see what you're getting at.
For personal reasons I'm probably going to be actively working til at least my early 40s, though I'd love to be able to just turn into a gigaNEET after that. I think the difference between me and you is that I'm not aiming to become rich while I'm still very young while you're likely looking to do just that.
