I'm a 30 year old NEET and I just got $50k usd in inheritance. How can I make a few hundred dollars off this each month to pay for food and video games?

I'm a total noob when it comes to anything money-related and just throw everything I get in my checking account

I’m 30 and my networth is -30k. However i frequently have sex with hot women. I would kill myself if i had just wasted 12 years of my life as a neet.

Wow great replies.

I bet all of you have less money than me.

Find 5 decent crypto projects/coins, put 10k in each and come back in a year.
That's far more effective than trying to earn passive income off of 50k.

You cant, you need at least a mil for a stable passive income

SGOV. It's a short term bond etf with a 5.35% yield which is $223 a month for $50,000 worth.

Welcome to /biz/. As you may have noticed, most people here are incapable of helping you. You may have somewhat better luck asking our number one general, /smg/.

Anyway, if your primary investment goal is income generation, you're going to want to research ETFs and/or CEFs that pay a steady dividend of around 7.5%. At that rate you will be able to get around $300 a month to finance your chosen lifestyle. I recommend picking out five funds of diverse types, and dollar-cost-averaging in to get a fair price if you're afraid of a downturn.

Wow you really helped him with this gigaboomer advice, that $300/month will change his life.
He'd be better off buying NIGGAWIFDURAG token and making a fortune. (joke, but true)

Crypto market is at a precipice of the next bull market and OP just got a golden ticket handed from him.
But sure, let him buy a boomer stock that will net him pocket change as he watches 15 year olds retiring off crypto while he contemplates suicide in his 40s thanks to your genius 7.5% dividend investment.

He will be much happier with 50k making $300 a month, than with zero because the scamcoin of the day got rugged five minutes after he YOLO'd. I told him what to do to get what he wants. Assuming he follows my advice and you follow yours, let's come back in five years and see which of the two of you has made more money.
