Remember that most these companies don’t need or even want your money in today’s world. They just want to get you into debt as quick and early as possible. Black people have no money and no long term planning capabilities. They are actually the best demographic for the modern lending techniques. I guess the risk that they will default on large loans outweighs the income stream from atm fees, service charges, OTL fees, and retarded interest rates.

Spirit?
SAVE
P/E ratio as of December 2023 (TTM): -3.36

I only fly Alaska if I can but Spirit is big with the cheap and those flying to Vegas. Anyways.

Negative isn't great p/e isn't great. They are losing money.

How long are you willing to hold?

I won't draw lines, but looking at the graph. Maybe it will recover but why would they?

Uhhh so looks like there will be MAYBE a merger with Jetblue. Jesus. Also shitty airline but the DOJ are looking to block it. OH this is a coinflip.
Good find Anon. Spirit will go bankrupt if the merger is blocked by the judge. This is America so they may allow it but SAVE is in danger alone.

Looks like 6 months ago JetBlue offered to buy Spirit last year at $33.50. Judge wouldn’t allow it. but. JetBlue announced they are breaking up w American in be northeast so they can reposition to buy Spirit again.

Coinflip baby.(I am going to buy calls on Tuesday dude wtf good gamble here.)
but. It's the DOJ that sued to stop the merge. Coinflip.
also I am the offer to buy Spirit will be the same this year as it was last year but Interest rates generally have a impact on how much investors are willing to overpay for a company.

he Spirit/JetBlue trial is concluding, with the judge expected to rule at some point after December 13, 2023.Far as I can tell no decision has been made.

tldr: Bad Company, Good play. Buy puts/calls for this month depending on what you think.

https://youtu.be/RibPAaPqkyo?feature=shared&t=164 keep in mind that "lower prices" doesn't mean much by itself. The product value is the combination of price and quality. Simply decreasing the price won't do it or you end up with low nutritional value and bland food.

I’m a former Factor customer that purchased it almost weekly in 2021 and 2022. Ultimately I had to stop because I just didn’t find their product to be cost competitive. It was about $14 per serving (delivered) for a 6 pack of Factor meals.

I live in a major east coast city walking distance to many fast casual options such as Chipotle, CAVA, Chopt, Sweetgreen, RASA, Five Guys, and Shake Shack. All of those places (except Five Guys, which is the biggest ripoff in the world), you can get a meal for $14 (picked up, with sales tax). Those fast casual options all have bigger portions and better taste (probably worse nutrition though) than Factor.

Factor would be incredible if they could get their prices down to to like $9 per, but at $14 they are not competitive with fast casual.

This is a issue I saw myself while looking at the company.
>Factor would be incredible if they could get their prices down to to like $9 per
I think them lowering marketing substantially together with the price per serving, would itself market the company better imo. The 18 meals per week has a 10.99$ price per meal without any promotions if they reduce marketing expenses substantially and reduce costs, and end up selling the same service for $9, It would market the company better in itself just by word of mouth. Focusing on cost cutting across all segments (mainly marketing) while maintaining quality would market the company better than the actual marketing. Mind you they spend more than a $1B in marketing per annum. Also I think they target a different consumer compared to fast food chains although I won't argue they aren't in direct competition with fast food chains for some of that consumer base.

TL:DR it really comes down to cutting costs especially marketing costs, now that the consumer is aware of the brand.

This narrative is such an awful bullshit lie it's unbelievable. Wage increases do not contribute to inflation because wages have been made worthless over the past 30 years. People supplement wages with pseudo-wages like credit cards and loans which have become easier to come by. This means people who earn nothing have artificially high purchasing power which pumps prices regardless of waht they're being paid.

You don't have to be Claude Fucking Shannon to know that the position size is too high.

Worst of all, it's not even statistically significant [2.52 < 3]. Relative to what? The paper does not make that clear.

But the strategy which sells equal weighted basket of straddles on the SPX constituents IS statistically significant. But look at that skew and kurtosis!

because its financials are stronger than when it first pumped up to $1.4 in 2021, that was a shitshow that resulted from an unsolicited offer from a firm offering to buy shares for $1/share when the company was at 50 cents

it was shilled in smg before that and im the only one left who actually held through that peak lel because im too high on the ceo's projections who wants to cash out when the market cap is closer to a billion, and i mean he is quietly showing results to prove the company has a lot more to run than just a 40 million market cap considering the contracts theyre slowly gobbling up, plus their revenue becoming for consistent, margins also increasing with their platform as a service to each vehicle

the trading volume is so thin thats the biggest problem so institutions dont want anything to do with it
there are also competition lile hayden that they just lost bids on some LA customer, their bid was $10m and hayden was like $13m but then negotiated down to $10m to undercut them,
hayden is prob red on their bottom line given theyve received batches of financing to fund their own growth while my leaf pennyscam can grow on its own without sacrificing bottom line

forgot to add my source lol

here's some source on the LA contract they were trying to bid on against hayden

https://metro.legistar.com/ViewReport.ashx?M=R&N=TextL5&GID=557&ID=9536&GUID=LATEST&Title=Board+Report
https://metro.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=12372686&GUID=C29B785C-84C0-4492-8535-E0368185EF77

unfortunately i think there was obviously politics involved here, they had a much better bid (that would be profitable to them) but LA negotiated with Hayden to match the other vendors so must be some direct contacts prior relations between Hayden and LA already

doesnt help that Hayden is the typical US company that has had MULTIPLE funding rounds of $50 million
e.g.
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20231018115406/en/Hayden-AI-Closes-on-53-Million-Series-B
so my 40 million market cap pennyscam cant compete with that kinda capital where Hayden is presumably just obtaining unprofitable contracts just to get their foot in the door
who knows whether that's sustainable, Hayden is a private company so their financials are not disclosed

to me i think it's funny how the company themselves are pretty hush about stuff like this on their own press releases, like they dont give a shit about pumping their stock price since they know it's not time to cash out on their company yet
like losing to hayden was bad and good but there was another piece of data here that was revealed that the company themselves never ever hinted to in any financials or releases

this part here is what im gambling on, that was revealed inadvertently on the bid for LA metro contract

this company has crabbed and suffered for a long time since it's been looked at as a one-trick pony with only 1 big contract to a major transit corporation (SEPTA), while massive and all, it scares everyone else since they're down bad if they lose that one contract
no one cares about the numerous smaller boring contracts with school buses everywhere
but here's the first concrete proof that the company has dealings with a 2nd major transit (TTC)
i fucking hate the TTC but they're huge regardless

ai dashcams sounds like a meme and a scam, and it may fucking well be, but they're siphoning government money if they're successful

Man. I sold my soxl at 30.55 and made 7k in overall profit, which was great since I'm not a huge presence in the market, but now I have 12k just sitting in my brokerage that I don't know what to do with. Can one of you tell me, in your perspective, what might be the play out of these ideas?
First one is the easiest, I just wait for SOXL to have like 3 red days in a row and reinvest and keep swinging. It seems like I could probably get back in when it drops to low 20s or so, and still it at about 30 again to keep getting the cream off of the milk. But I'm a bit concerned about the market. It feels like we're really due for a recession. Will that happen soon? Fuck if I know. Which brings me to my other idea.

JEPI I've heard is a great dividend stock and with it more or less bring reliant on blue-chip stocks, it's a bit more recession resistant than a lot of other things, and if I'm parking 10k in there, the monthly dividend could be neat to either increase my shares over time, or knock off a bill or two every month.

My last idea was just doing the fire and forget method of VOO and trusting that this fake and gay market is going to somehow ignore our stagflation and continue to climb to all time highs. I don't check on stocks often due to my work being kind of hands on, so something that I wouldn't have to baby world be nice.

If I could get some perspective on just what might be the best play here, I'd really appreciate anyone helping my retarded ass out.
And a merry Christmas to you all as well

1) pretty sure warren doesn't run most of the money anymore. the ideas coming out of there don't sync up anymore. OXY is the only recent thing that definitely has warren's signature, but ted and greg would have done it the same.
2) B is fully priced, maybe overpriced, at $350. start a position if you absolutely have to, but it was $240-260 just 5-6 months ago and BRK stopped repurchasing itself above $260.
okay pure speculative part now
i think todd, ted, greg and ajit are in control of the vast majority of the portfolio now. greg runs BHE and oversees non-insurance, and ajit of course runs the geico book, albeit indirectly, because he oversees all the insurance. todd and ted are the capital allocators that you will see on tv for years to come. ajit won't do that stuff and i doubt greg likes it much.
i called this too early: i think i said greg and ajit would be at the table for 2023, maybe i said it for 2022 too. regardless, i still think all four of them will be sitting next to warren in 2024 at the annual meeting. even more sure of it now. just put yourself in his shoes. could you bear to be up there alone without charlie?
at a minimum, greg should be up there. and really they all need to start answering audience questions. maybe todd gets a pass because he still counts as a manager and the managers all sit down front. maybe he doesn't like the attention.

It depends.
I don't think I'm becoming any worse at games I've already played at some point in the past when I come back to them.
I could still destroy any zoomer in a match of HoMM3 and get a confident-ish win in Quake 3 any day of the week. I'd be relatively confident in a team fortress 1v1 on most of the classes too.
I cleared Sekiro recently and had an absolute blast while doing it, despite S oY s bitching about it being too hard.
We play Darktide or Vermintide 2 when me and the boys can get a 4 stack going and do just fine on the highest available challenge levels.

On the other hand, trying anything outside my comfort zone like gook-click style RTS games or battle royales just doesn't end well. I tried something called Ring of Elysium a couple years back and I'd die without even knowing what shot me.

I think games/genres might work sort of like languages - it gets harder and harder to introduce yourself to something new the older you get. But it's not like you're going to completely forget one once you learn it to a decent level at a younger age.

I haven't the slightest idea how one gets addicted to gambling. The odds are stacked against you, something something the house always wins.
The market on the other had is like a huge store where you have to find the discounts and avoid the expensive (high margin) products. Obviously the FED makes this easier by manipulating interest rates.

I'll probably end up quitting this year, looking for something to play feels more exciting than the actual game, playing feels like a waste of time and I never feel that way when reading a book or watching a good movie
also multiplayer games where you actually get to interact with other people are dead, everyone's antisocial shaking on adderall and tryharding

>What is your dream business
>what is your biggest liability
I'm asking these questions because these are the questions I am asking myself now.

Always wanted a pub or easy going restaurant. After having run a business for a few years now though, I want the least amount of employees as possible. Employees stuck and the state just fucks you constantly.

Now days its just like what business can I do close to home and have 0 employees but many write offs.

You can and very well should start a business for the sake of being part of the local community or enhancing the regional economy. WHat hobby/passion do you have? Certainly there is something you wouldn't think would make money but you would want to do anyway?
>>57088818
Pub is pretty chill. Why not just automated drink stations for beer/liquor with food trucks leasing space/ splitting profits for food? DIY pub so to speak. WHere I am (Ft. Myers); It is called the Backyard social. Trust me on that; I understnad. I hold MSOX.
>>57088865
what film you trying to make? any genre you were fascinated with in college? the most expesinve thing you would need would be the camera and software to edit the footage. I think low 5 figs can produce that.

Let me help all of /smg/ get their dream businesses off the ground. I recently graduated from entrepreneurship with a bachelors and would like to give back my knowledge to help my frens with their dreams. So we all do not have to live unfulfilled lives by busting our chops for people who wouldn't know what to do without ya.

I'm not a part of my local community and don't give a fuck about the regional economy. It's doing fine on its own. I have no hobbies or passions. I'm basically just biding my time until I die.

Also, just because something is "medical" doesn't mean it's not addictive and degenerate. Look all those opiate pills pushed on people with sprained ankles or after tooth surgery, most of those people are now dead or living on the street from addiction.
Sure, you can make a lot of money investing in degeneracy, but I won't be a part of it

Do shares, options are to expensive. Buyout price in total is 33.5, a part of that 2.5 was paid out in Q1 2023 or before, then a 0.1 per share every month of 2023 totaling 1.2. The max price is now 29.8. Look at https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/66962142/united-states-of-america-v-jetblue-airways-corporation/?page=3.. Look at document 450 and 451 the end trial brief for both DOJ and JetBlue. You can also see proposed conclusion to law and finding of facts of each submitted 12/13/23. At 17 a share the market is still calling this a coin flip, and the rise from 15.5-17 has only been after Powell triggering risk on in the markets. I see this as passing 90%. Judge would have to ignore supply side entry and the mobility of airplanes. Clayton Act Section 7 requires "substantial harm", the DOJ is trying to drop that word.
