I am really interested in seeing what happens on their end this coming year. Their supposed to be making a plan on if their going to operate their project themselves or do a buy out with Hecla. They have a very tasty permitted location for a potential toll mill site which could run material from a number of nearby properties if built. They had a pretty good exploration season this year, and just aquired some more ground on their big bulk copper property as well, so over all pretty good but they need to figure out if they are going to mine or if their going to do it with Hecla soon. I cant recall whos working on Kitsault Moly but that had some rumblings about restarting as well recently, loads going on in the Arm of Ghosts lately.

It really does read like satire, especially when he claims that BHS will now have money to pay for "deep drilling." Even the tranny fucker doesn't claim that.
He might have funds to conduct the geophysics, but I doubt he'll even have enough for the underground program, let alone deep core drilling. This absurd notion was previously exploded here.
The writer of this puff piece is either utterly incompetent or willfully lying. Look at another of his picks -- KLM.v -- a joke of a company run by a failed mining journalist which has to pay for everything with shares.
This industry preys on the retarded.

>> No.57057885

>>57057267
Yea with the price of gold where it is (and potentially heading upwards) it makes it even more desirable for small companies like DV to continue developing properties and building out operational mills to cash in. DV might not have a good AISC
at $1800 spot, but $2000+ is enticing. Helca has to do something to prop up their revenues since that has been stalling this year compared to the past. So partnering with a junior could add a stream and boost the profiles of both companies.

Geologically, they claim to have skarn copper deposits which is great but the best economic skarns are calcite exoskarns and I’m not sure if that’s the type of skarn found in their area. Are calcite exoskarns typical for the Golden Triangle? It is a subduction zone, so there should be skarns in general.

>> No.57058027

>>57057885
i am not exactly sure if their copper skarn formations are calcite hosted, i cant recall off hand but i can have a look again. Generally though the skarn formations you see on the coastal sections of BC are heavily altered by later weathering and or modified by other tectonic activity, often enriching them further with quartz breccia hosted sulfides. On Gabriola Island for example you often see copper skarns riddled with later poly metallic veining by late intrusive quartz, which made them extremely enticing towards mining, but their extremely tough rock made them uneconomical to mine.

hard to say, i havent heard much out of them either, but its probably to do with waiting for permitting and approvals from the government. Once the crypto tards come in here it's going to be impossible to talk about anything. But for now we have ONE thread that covers the entirely of ALL commodities and we can barely keep it alive. See you 15 anons at the top. They already closed a financing 2 weeks ago, they're good for the next 6 months. The story is pretty straightforward, lot of good drill result, 1m high grade, good chance to double it, 25market cap, very decent structure for a junior after a 3 year bear market. Wont bet the farm, its an easy 3x once PM break out and it looks like we're close to it, just something I wanna have and throw 2k at it. They'll be taken out early imo.

I became way more conservative now and it looks like its working. PM breaking out need to be a side dish for my investment thesis, otherwise i'm not putting money in it.

If shilling to us 15 anons on here did anything Bayhorse would be a billion dollar market cap. I like Bayhorse memes and everyone infighting about it. Ultimately all junior miners are down (excluding some like Hercules) and can only move up when gold price breaks out for long enough. Just watch Hedgeless Horseman copium and make sure your juniors have enough cash and not too much debt that they will have to dilute you to keep the lights on.

Agree. The only thing when I've been accumulating some of my favorite mining companies these last few months it seems to be impossible to get a bid in. The volume for the TSX is extremely low. I believe it would be better to get in before all the normies. Honestly, you could wait till a junior hits amazing news and then wait a week and buy at the same price as before the news because the market is so bad.

For what horse?
My general philosophy is to minimize regret and black swans when selling. My plan is to Dollar cost average out of my positions when they get to certain targets or when normies start asking me for stock tips once I make it. Dollar cost averaging out will remove regret if the stock goes up or down.
I'll probably sell a percent of my gains each week once I hit my target price for a given stock.
Also adding a trailing stop loss once a miner has reached a target price can also be another strategy.

Also for commodity price I'll look at ratios between asset classes to determine if something is too expensive or cheap. Good ratios to look at are the gold/DOW ratio, gold to median price house, gold to silver ratio, price to earning ratio for stocks. Having a strict monetary price can be deceiving if the value of our money is decreasing rapidly.

I started investing in miner September 2020, I was a full physical before that. I would have been +50% on the gain side by just jerking off to my pet rock instead of being dilluted to death.

On a positive note, its a good I had all these bad experience in a bear market, i'm now completely armed just in time for the real bullmarket. Pump & dump, dillution, greedy CEO swinging for the fences, I tasted everything. Priceless lesson and now solid portfolio.

Loss can be made back. Lesson shouldn't be ignored. Giving up is the worst choice. WAGMI.

honestly, its very hard to find yourself a company thats not known. Big money is very advantaged here since they're connected to CEO and broker. They are always the first seed.

Interview and article are your best bet. Also following smart people on ceo.ca (very few are) and looking on what board they are lurking. Wind for example was on both PMET and BIG before the pop, very old and smart geo.

I watch tons of interview both when going to work and at work. And at home too, always have on on my 3rd screen.

The general sentiment on CEO.ca doesn't really count for much. I could name dozens of companies where this was the case and the companies turned out to be dogshit. The sentiment is often manufactured by pump gangs who coordinate in private channels and sock puppet each other in the public channels. FWIW, go to SEDAR, start reading and understanding the filings for as many companies as you can, and don't be swayed by some manufactured sentiment. Be right and sit tight.
PS, I have no opinion on BEX. I'm recommending that you learn how to do proper DD. I doesn't come from watching videos, cheerleading in echo chambers, or following "experts," but from tedious, boring and long hard work. If you think you can take shortcuts you get screwed.

It's the most efficient method of mining coal that there is, and it's only been in widespread use since maybe the 70s. The idea goes back centuries, though.
Indiana doesn't allow longwall mining due to an anti-subsidence law. So Indiana mines do room and pillar.

to think that hydraulic setup holds the back up and advances with the cutter. Thats holding up a mountain worth of rock, insane. I would not want to be around one of those jack cylinders if they failed though.

>> No.57076558

I doubt it's the whole weight of the mountain above that's being held, though I am not a mining engineer. The overlying strata probably have some rigidity.
Most collapses in a mine aren't total cave ins going all the way up to the surface but rather loose rock up to a few feet thick or bigger falling off the top.

>> No.57076593

Look into block cave stoping. It's often the entire weight of the mountain, and when it lets go it can easily cave clear to the surface. Even with extremely rigid rock.

>> No.57076606

>>57076558
it depends on the ground, and how wide of a cut your doing. I have heard of some mines in West Virginia where you do end up seeing subsistence all the way to surface, but those mines arent hundreds of meters down. Its a massive amount of weight either way, and this setup was ingenious for coal mining, because in the end you dont have to worry about supporting the entire mine after you have excavated, it all closes up behind you.

In most coal beds I am familiar with, the "back" rock is often only clay / mud stones or similar weak fissile material, and needs quite a bit of work to support. Watching some of those TV shows of guys in Appalachia doing 4ft bolts in the back to make their ground safe blows me away, you would need 20ft bolts and caging to make our ground "safe".

>> No.57076685

>>57076593
Yes, block caving is a very good example of part of the mountain collapsing all the way to the surface.
I was taught by a mining engineer, many years ago, that in room and pillar mining, say, if there is a 40 foot wide entry, then an arch naturally forms above that gap, just like arches that hold up old Roman aqueducts. So the surface is well supported in a room and pillar mine which has relatively narrow entries. It is the material on the flat top/back that is at risk of falling into the entry. Roof bolting helps bind layers of rock in that flat roof below the natural arch together to prevent rock falls.
However, such natural arching doesn't work with longwalls, since the panels they cut are so wide, often well over 1000 feet or 300 meters. The natural arch which would form over such a wide gap would have to be thousands of feet above it, and coal mines aren't a mile deep.
Anyway, I can't remember the ratio of how tall the natural arch is to how wide the entry is, but arching doesn't work for longwall mines.

>> No.57076696

>>57076606
Yep, shallower mines, even room and pillar mines rather than longwalls, are much more likely to cause subsidence at the surface due to being too shallow for a natural arch to form over the entries or aisles underground.

>> No.57076722

>>57076685
>Anyway, I can't remember the ratio of how tall the natural arch is to how wide the entry is, but arching doesn't work for longwall mines.
In other words, yeah, I guess the longwall shields might be holding the whole weight of the area of the mountain above them.

>> No.57076758

>>57076685
So in old room and pillar coal mines, there will be arches above the "aisles" and the aisled will be filled in, but not fully to the height of the arch, by material below that arch.

I worked one mine that block caved so effectively they made a glory hole on the surface almost half a mile in diameter. They're now working the glory hole as an open pit, but they have the option of opening it up at the bottom and using the underground haulage routes if they wanted to.
Took out an entire mountain, it's an amazing sight.

thats whats going to end up happening in 10 years at the New Afton Gold mine near Kamloops BC, they open pit operated the near surface ore body, than went underground with block caving. Once the caving reaches surface, their going to link the pit and underground via the Glory Hole it forms, as a faster way to deploy back fill material.

depends on price. At current prices it's less than 10. If prices drop they're already out of ore and will shut down for like the 20th time.

If higher prices make lower grades worth mining, it could be another 100 years, maybe longer. They have miles and miles of mid grade ore left.

I don't know the details of this accident, but I'm sure we're going to talk about it in a couple months at our MSHA refresher. It's sad and it may not be the company's fault really. Accidents happen even in the safest places. But any time someone goes home dead there's going to be waves of flak from bottom to top. That's extremely expensive, aside from the horrible press and just tragic loss to family and friends.

I think we talked about that before when we were looking into the revenue-virginius. Seemed like the previous closure followed a multi-fatality accident right? Pretty sure newmont is self-insured so they're paying for this one out of pocket and it's not cheap. Not to mention the down time and fines they can expect. Well, I enjoy the "adventure" of mining: being underground, the big noisy machines -- all that fun! So if I die in a mining disaster (and I work very safely), then I will have died doing what I live. I can't think of any work environment more interesting than an underground mine, though I am sure there are mariners and loggers out there who would be willing to debate that.
Anyway, though, I cannot in good conscience send anyone into a particularly hazardous situation. My love of the "adventurous" aspect of mining give me no right at all, and I recognize this, to endanger myself or, especially, anyone else.
So when there is something especially hazardous to do and I am around or in charge, I volunteer.
And any mining company with a bad safety culture is just downright unethical unless they are working hard to fix it after, say, buying the company out from another owner.

Coal miners also tend to collect stuff, in particular old mining helmets, cap lamps, company and equipment brand stickers, company scrip, old tools, even company-given belt buckles.
Coal miners tend to take a lot of pride in being coal miners.

just pile into Bayhorse Silver, its CMMG's pick of the decade. All the mining experts agree there is a mountain of the world's best silver ore. CMMG can pool its lunch money and just all the shares take over the board and issue directives to your hero Graeme and the millions of ounces of pure silver will flow.

That's a 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe.
20 feet long, fully loaded weight slightly under 6,000 pounds. A giant of a car.
460 cubic inch Ford big block engine. My family had a couple cars with that engine back in the day. We could pull several thousand pound trailers, even uphill, and not even feel it. That's how powerful those suckers age.
Automakers need to remake the land yachts. They're extremely comfortable for long drives with a family, and they're also utilitarian since they can pull so much weight.
And how does this relate to /CMMG/? Well, they're drinkin' Lincolns. They need a lot of fuel.
