C-Chain is an EVM network based on Go Ethereum. It can't do 4500 TPS. You're thinking of the X-Chain and P-Chain. The reason it's currently doing 60 TPS is because self-transfers are tiny and only use 22k gas.

Max theoretical TPS on C-Chain is 341, which is roughly 3x Ethereum's TPS. And theoretical TPS is 2x average max TPS since the gas target is 0.5x the gas limit.

X and P chains have deterministic finality while C-Chain is probabilistic. It's based on Go Ethereum. It's not going to magically acquire 700ms deterministic finality.

It’s a bad first experience when shit gets like this. People are also going to look at shit like Monad and SEI for their EVM. A lot of them are spam, but really inscriptions are just a way of storing arbitrary data on blockchains that are primarily designed to be used as token ledgers. It can be a JPEG, code, a book, whatever, just has to be less than ~1.8mb or whatever the file size works out to be for the per block gas limit. They are working on a rewritten EVM that I believe is still serial but uses a bunch of techniques to improve the VM like JIT computation, precompiles, etc. Kevin estimated it would be out last Jan tho kek. Multiple avalabs folks have said recently it's still been in development and coming soon though. I do agree though, in the past avalabs has managed to have a corrective update for whatever the latest load generating trend is seemingly right on time. Unfortunately firewood and EVM++ are bigger upgrades and they're just behind the curve this time around. I'm guessing Emin has had to balance engineering resources between protocol work and supporting BD efforts like evergreen/avacloud. A bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation IMO.
