I think taking a nice hard look at Exter's pyramid is a good place to start. We already KNOW that the banking system is held together by nothing more than liquidity injections. Now is not the time to be aggressively chasing returns and keeping PMs as 1-2% of your portfolio.I think the fundamentals of silver alone, and in conjunction with the historic Dow:Gold ratio and the G:S ratio, it is safe to say that long term holding of silver can easily be a 10 bagger at some point.
Do with that what you will, but I got my fair share. And the way I see it, $200 spent per paycheck these days is equivalent to potentially locking in $2000 worth of purchasing power. And that gives me the peace of mind to invest in other stupid equities earning 10% while we all wait for Armageddon.

100%. Literally risk-free and with potential limitless upside. Once your stack is large enough you'll be free to diversify, but for now you want to secure a metallic insurance. Maybe the only tangible thing left with zero counterparty risk, zero risk of cancelling by both private and public authorities, and zero taxable liability. Those 3 points will become increasingly sought after in the era of digitalized vampirism, where looting your equities/properties/goods can be done in the name of anything and everything.

Also... i've a gut feeling something big is about to occur. Something very big. The (((agents))) of planned chaos are ready to pull their next move. Too many bad signs and paid war zealots all over Europe, i think we aren't far off the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict (which is already WW3, lets not fool ourselves).

That would be most of us, i will admit having a 401k but as ive said in the past its a 1:1 match and my PMs dwarf it. Its too “advanteged” to pull out, i see it as a lottery ticket, whereas many foreigners would see it in the reverse.
I will admit to having crypto as well but just a small bag as a hedge its nothing too radical, its a “controlled” coin which i see as more profitable in the case we are lead astray. I haven’t shilled a crypto here and never will, to allow myself the moral flexibility to attack those that do.

You are way too based for a zoomie-boomie. Took me way too long to figure out all stocks are scams in the exact same vein as shitcoins, simply with a veneer of regulations (all stacked against you) to give some credibility to it, and land... you aren't ever really the true owner of it. And the ability to artificially & indefinitely ramp up the value of terrains is like a prison where governments can put you in the next brackets to tax you always more even though your wealth didn't move an inch.

Not only that, but so many factors can brutally change the value of real estate, or even acres of forests. An uncle of mine is literally unable to sell his house because they built a 200 meters high wind turbine few hundreds meters away. Technically his house is still worth like 400K, and he is taxed on those 400K, but in reality on the market the value is now zero, because nobody want to fucking live right next to a wind turbine. And nobody asked for his approval to build it of course.

I reached the same conclusion than you : only gold & silver offers me complete control over my assets, as well as complete security from digitalized seizing, complete anonymity, etc... all while being the only real store of value (ie store of worked hours) existing who carry all the properties of money.

So yeah, gold and silver it is. Emphasis on silver for me because it's so absurdly underpriced. And gold for when i manage to save 2k and/or want some extra safe guarantee.

as an owner along a massive utility easement, history bears out that even in humble circumstances land can also be taken (legally). Silver and gold can be moved with my person, its a superior asset, and for silver it is a highly utilized commodity. As for gold, it is is coveted by those wishing to back a new currency, although they are mislead. but its value comes about because of agreeance, and so its true that gold is also prized. as long as that agreeance remains, not so for silver. I am a shill for silver, and not so for gold. for the aforementioned reasons, although i hold both.

Exact. What i extra-like with silber is what is seen as a problem to many who are too blinded by the potential of gold-backed currencies : central banks don't own any significant quantities of it. Thus, beside their paper game, they don't have any potential leverage on the physical commodity itself, like they do with gold.
One major factor to explain the dump of gold prices post-2010 was central banks dumping huge loads of their gold on the markets, in big batches at a time to have maximum selling pressure on the spot price.
It was vital to central bankers to have seemingly strong currencies right when they entered ZIRP (zero interest rate policy) and massive QE. And for that, the main tool used is always to sabotage the benchmark currencies' performances are calculated against : gold.

Not only silver and gold have around the same tonnage of above ground in investment form, but at least with silver the owners mostly are industrials producing real goods, and common folks who use it as savings like us. And a bit of banksters too, but it's secluded to the LBMA, SGE & Comex. But i love gold too, i simply don't like how it's currently distributed among the population.

Didn't you say you have a hard on for land and metals in the last thread? If so, I'll assume you're squared away on dried food and guns and such so I say, diversify: 500 a month into some super high risk/high yield gambles like memecoins. 500 on L1 cryptos. 1000 a month on PMs and leave the remaining 1000 in physical cash and whatever high yield savings or money market account that lets you access it immediately without fees. This should be an awesome growth strategy for the next 8-12months with minimal exposure to our overvalued stock market. If you pick the memecoins right (pick 1 or 2 a month using coinblow), it might allow you to buy more land cash with your gains, and, $12k in sales tax free, US priced PMs isn't chump change. That's like: flee to south America and live comfortably in nice beachfront condo for a year if you had to.

It's not tarnish we're talking about here, but probably rust encrusted on the silver, from being in close contact with iron compounds for centuries (could be a nail, or anything i guess..).
Scrapfren advised me to use some drain cleaner to clean up silver RMs i got who have the same issue. But idk if i should try it too with antique silber. A RM is basically worth close to nothing so that's why he advised me drain cleaner i believe, while here it's big monies (and historical, cultural value too), so i'll wait for his expertise before doing something potentially retarded.

I don't think the dollar will collapse in the next 8 months at the very least, and you can only buy PMs with fiat or crypto so...if you have a finite amount of cash available for PMs per month, and your goal is to buy more PMs before a crash, it makes sense to try and increase your PM stack as best you can before said crash. It's just my suggestion. I don't care what anyone chooses to do with their fiat, but it's still the predominant medium of exchange for now and the immediate future.

>>56985935

What I'd do is soak it in acetone for a little while to dissolve any finger grease or resins first. The black goo honestly just looks like really thick Silver Sulfide, same shit as normal tarnish, so a combination of baking soda/aluminum then using a sharp bamboo skewer to remove loosened crud then more baking soda/aluminum treatments etc. should work.

I detect some soft lumpy-lookin' re-deposited metallic silver deposits on the coin, definitely on the neck and in the middle of the black zone on his head and in the eye socket area too. That can be scraped off very easily with the sharp bamboo, it's soft stuff but often the surface of the coin underneath can be a bit rough and soft too so it takes patience and care to make sure you don't fuck it up and start digging into the surface of the actual coin. I'm certain that coin could be improved significantly but you need to be careful, and ideally use a binocular or digital microscope to see it and the tip of your tool at 10-20x so you don't do anything too dumb for too long

>Did you often came across this kind of tarnishing pattern on old coins?
Yes I do! Not sure why but often that thick tarnish is concentrated in a few patches instead of evenly spread over a coin.

Regarding the "re-deposited silver" I'm not exactly sure what it is, some people call it 'Horn Silver" but that is AgCl, and i don't think it is metallic and silvery. Perhaps it is a mix of silver chloride and micro-flakes of metallic silver? Whatever the case it is very soft so can be removed easily, often it flakes/chips off of the surface in sizeable chunks which is convenient, but there isn't a very distinct visual or moh's hardness transition between the actual surface of the coin and that silvery crust so you need to be careful, cleaning bronze coins is usually more straightforward in that respect.

Kek, since us Burgers are insulated from the bulk of the Gyppo plague I don't have direct experience with them, my wife has chaperoned Uni trips to the UK and France tho and says gangs of swarthy subhuman gypsies hang out around the tourist traps and spend all day trying to steal purses and swindle naive visitors. Yeah the eagle is unusually nice considering the overall moderately circulated condition, cleaned-up it would be an attractive coin.

I've circled for you some of the more obvious "horn silver" or redeposited silver crustiness that could pe picked right off with a sharp fine-pointed hard bamboo or big tree thorn tool (usually needs frequent resharpening with a razor blade but it's necessary for getting into little crevices). The baking soda/aluminum treatment helps get rid of some of the tarnish that acts like a hard glue strengthening and holding crud on the surface, I like to do a succession of mechanical cleaning with sharp tools, then a baking soda/Al dip, then tools again to get the freshly loosened stuff off, then dip again, etc.

Ah, IRL gyppos truly are something else. To tell you how much people hate them, it's the only "minority" group with zero support from leftoid organizations.
It's not rare to see them being beaten down by natives/arabs/cops/anybody they tried to fuck with, and i've yet to see anyone coming to their rescue. People would cheer to one being killed out in the street. The entire racial and political spectrum in Europe -and especially France- hate them.

And i believe most hate them for something they do who is profoundly repugnant : teaching their kids to become scammers/thieves/criminals the minute they can walk. So gyppos are doomed to remain this petty criminal scum forever because they never want a better future for their children, they just see them as cash bots who can't be jailed. Even though they are offered the opportunity to get free food and public school (and most are well off from all the thievery, they earn far, far more than any minimum wage worker). 10-12yo gyppo spawns in Paris already have 100+ arrestations to their name each.

Just seeing it kinda makes me feel a bit on edge, I feel compelled to work on it right now and would genuinely enjoy cleaning it, probably in a similar OCD vein to how some people are compelled to remove scabs or dig-out blackheads or whatever and are calmed and soothed by doing so. Much more healthy and productive to clean coins of course, but that raw underlying *feel* is likely very similar.

Tools like these, about the diameter of a pencil or pen so they're easy to hold. I've bought and tried using the fine tool tip things embedded with diamond dust (as a precision abrasive) like the ones clamped in the pin vices in picrel, they're good tools but I honestly prefer a super sharp small thin steel sewing pin, nothing else can get into the finest crevices like a simple sharp pin. He's Canadian so I'm pretty sure they have to pay vat and/or sales tax on top of any silver premiums, whereas gold usually has less tax in commonwealth countries. This is why bongs and others tend to prefer it. Silver is seen as more of a "luxury" expense for those anons, while gold is their predominant PM store of value.

With that said, and I post this fairly often: 5-10gram bars typically have less premium than 1/10-1/4oz coins. You lose the ability to claim only the face value if crossing an international border, but if you're just dipping your toes into gold, it's not a bad option vs. smaller coins.

Eh I'm just trying to mitigate a risk here. But I don't understand all the mechanics of asset forfeiture. It seems that there is a step where the state might have to demonstrate that there is a reasonable suspicion, and later where they must demonstrate a preponderance of evidence, that the asset is involved in certain types of crime. I'm thinking if the asset is physically attached to records that indicate it was acquired legally, both of those steps would be way more difficult for them. Also, if you transport it in a container that is locked with a combination (instead of a key) they cannot compel you to open it and must obtain a warrant first. Which is pretty easy for them to do but it's an extra step and they might not be motivated to do it if they can't see what's inside. Thoughts?

Most precious metals bullion in Canada is exempt from GST/HST. Provided the precious metals are defined as coins, bars, ingots, or wafers of gold, silver and platinum. Additionally, they must be refined to a minimum purity of 99.50% for Gold and Platinum, and 99.9% for silver. I only know this because I used apmex once. Duties are a different story though.

Make a Roth IRA and put in as much as you can every week to max your yearly contribution. You can always take out what you put in tax and penalty free. Invest wisely or just hold it in there as cash ready to buy crashes / dips.

Take the rest and start an emergency fund in fiat, once you're over 4-6 months rent, start buying all in on metals.

Or at least that's what I do.

Distributed among the population? Are you some kind of commie? Money is a medium of EXCHANGE! As soon as gold is remonetized it starts circulating as people begin exchanging it for goods and services. Stack gold and silver now so you can EXCHANGE it later for what other people produce. Then they have the gold and silver, only to exchange it with someone else. Money circulates. The reason fiat money tends to aggregate in certain hands is because the corrupt system allows some folks to create money while secretly stealing it from others. Once you eliminate that with sound money, it circulates. Not evenly because humans are not in any way "even" in their abilities or values. But no matter how the gold and silver are distributed when the starting gun goes off, it is a certainty that the distribution will change immediately and never stop changing.

Roth IRA's are individual accounts set up through a broker. You make money, pay taxes on it, then put it in a Roth IRA to grow tax free. You don't pay any taxes on the gains(assuming they never change the law). You can buy whatever you want since they're usually self directed. The individual contribution limit for 2023 is $6,500 and for 2024 it's $7,000. Of you have a wife, you can contribute $13,000/$14,000 between the two of you. Remember, it grows tax free- compared to a brokerage account which you have to pay yearly taxes on the profits when you sell an equity.

Yes it's disgusting. What makes it worse for me is my car is an old coupe sport from 2000 with weird ass tires' sizes, and as of anything slightly out of the ordinary with cars, you get raped to death with changing parts.

I legit believe the cars' reparation industry is more corrupt and scummy than even banks and insurance companies. Especially now manufacturers put all kind of useless electronics nobody ever asked for and they can shut down/"break" at will and make you pay thousands USD for a software update who costed them $1.
And ofc your car refuse to start if the electronic sensor for some obscure shit you never heard about isn't functioning properly, keeping you hostage until you pay.

That's why i 100% refuse to drive anything with electronics in it. I will only drive old manual cars until it's made illegal (to somehow save mommy earth of course). And even once it's illegal i'll continue to pollute my way in, in my old shitbox while listening to pink floyd's cassette tapes, and run over glowies if they try to stop me.
Such is the way of the 30yo boomie.

US Federal land you can still detect anywhere you're not likely to find artifacts. Artifacts are defined as anything more than 100 years old, so anything before 1923. So basically you can detect FS and BLM in parking lots, campgrounds, picnic areas, and open land, but not for any artifacts.

State and local lands vary a lot, but if you're autistic enough to detect around schools and parks they'll probably ignore you.

In my area the best places to detect or roadsides on county roads that went through private property. Generally don't need permission, and the cops usually leave you alone. Not always, but usually.

probably true though. I worked as a contractor for the FS once and they were asking me if I could donate some office paper or pens or something because their budget was too small. Scrap anons, how do you handle estate sales? I've had small amounts of luck locally finding sterling for under spot, and I've found a sale tomorrow that has a number of heavy items. Will the estate sale company look at me sideways for bringing a kitchen scale?

The prices that I can see look pretty good, like one of pic related for $50. Ebay has one listed for three times that, and says it's 120 grams of sterling, so solidly under the melt value. Other than getting there first, is there anything else I should look out for? Is it reasonable to negotiate if you're spending a lot?

Any advice for an aspiring goblin looking to loot boomer treasure?

Game wardens are the same way. I don’t know how they do it but you could be in the middle of nowhere and they show up hauling ass on ATVs. Then a few of them pull up all along the main roads out of nowhere. HOW did you even know we were there? theyre ghosts man.

Yeah it’s fine, as long as it’s a lot like you say. If you try to bargain with them over $50 you’ll just look like a jew. I’d say for every thousand you spend, asking for $100 off is fair. 300 for 3k, etc.

They might, but who cares? It's nothing that'll get you escorted out or b& or anything if that's what you're worried about. It might activate the almonds of other shoppers and encourage them to look for cheapies too tho. Bring your own sturdy reusable shopping bag to carry slurps and the scale so people don't see you carrying it around the whole time.
>Other than getting there first, is there anything else I should look out for?
Look for desirable makers like Tiffany, antique aesthetic movement or "mixed metal" sterling silver items by companies such as Gorham or Whiting like picrel, or really desirable patterns like Shreve & Co's "14th century" pattern. Fancy little things like "vestas" (matchstick cases), pillboxes, sewing pin containers, tea infuser balls etc. are also often worth many times melt.
>Is it reasonable to negotiate if you're spending a lot?
Might be possible if it's a 1-off sale ran by the family, but if it's by an actual estate sale company then no usually prices are all quite firm, the 1/3 or 1/2-off discounts come after Noon or on the 2nd/3rd day. They may be wise to "STERLING" marked stuff but often don't understand English sterloing hallmarks or European silver alloys like .800, .830, .835 etc.

73gr, around 20cm i'd say. Pretty light-weight and tiny compared to some others.
What bothers me is the later-added monogram and mini taxes stamp (very tiny crab below the marks) post-revolution, both added circa early 1800. It's polluting my old artifact.
I've came across a bunch of those over time, it was the government taxing a second time old silverware, in the name of the previous taxation system (royalty) not being legitimate and thus not recognized by the newly formed constitutional government. Thus a newly proper and legitimate© tax was required. Whatever excuse was good enough to finance the napoleonic wars i guess. Smart people hid away their silver, but just like in 1933 for you, you always have a bunch of tards/bootlickers surrendering their stuff if they are asked for it in the name of the ""greater good"".

Thanks for discussing this fren, I remember reading about the silver re-tariffing/taxing as an offhand mention somewhere but haven't looked into it. Do you know how the tax was levied? the other thing they do is bring in a group of guys with detectors to clean out the really interesting places before looters can get to them. I've worked on a few of those projects. You go in and detect an entire grid covering say a ghost town, over and over until there's nothing left. They watch every time you dig. Clean the place out, plot artifacts on a map, stick them in boxes in a closet somewhere.

But I do know of a few places they own that have never been systematically detected and probably should be. Not that I would ever loot their ghost towns. Not at all. I've made millions doing honest work for the forest service alone, and wouldn't jeopardize that relationship for something as worthless as a one-of-a-kind saloon token from a town on federal land. But i also believe by stating such enormities, they are trying to force the public to understand the future isn't for everybody.

So if the demand in metals/materials can't be met for a sustainable future©, what is the other variable you can adjust to reach this utopia? The number of humans.

For now they like to pretend they can reach something unreachable. But you'll see, in a year or two they will finally admit the obvious truth :

Me neither, but tbf it's not *that* important in regard of all the shenanigans who occured during this period. Students barely study the assignats system even though it had a huge impact during this period. To this day most monetary instruments like Tbonds derive from this scam, ie printing securities on non-existing collaterals. Then promising yields you can't pay but by printing more bonds you'll sell in the future.

And well... we are the most taxed nation on earth, and it probably always have been like that. Our history books would look like a giant tax receipt if we had to list those kek.
Even if in truth it's a formidable subject, you can't understand history if you don't have a grasp of the taxation system. Most rebellions and revolutions started after taxes going too wild. It's also the most powerful tool of control over populations, taxes alone can kill entire nations.

Just last week an old fart was invited on TV liberté and he wrote about the history of taxes, it looked very interesting ngl, i'm really tempted to dive into it.

kek'd and true.
but I left the thread alone for 2 straight years and in that time they allowed IQ to come in and keep right on bobposting. Fuck that. If anyone is going to bobpost it's going to be bob. And as soon as he's very clearly gone, I am too.

be nice to Lassen (schizoanon) if you see him, unless you are him. He stacks like a mf

yep. I was under antigouging laws, but I turned a $100k inventory into several million in gov contracts. Crazy times and a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Hopefully.

that was me. Check the dates. I was gone from about early 2021 to this year. Mostly in /cmmg/ playing with the guys there, but also just doing my thing off the internets. I did a lot of metal detecting, did some business, fucked around on /an/ for a while. Ignored /pmg/ until I saw what IQDELET was up to.

I bought up their coin collections, I know for a fact a lot of boomers died. The "disease" suddenly stopped killing boomers after a year, so I have to assume they died from the treatment, not the disease. But they very certainly died.

I mean imagine you're a 90 year old coin collector and you catch the new scary cold. They rush you into the hospital, stick you on a respirator, put you in a medically induced coma, and don't let your family or friends visit you.

of course you're going to die.

the only question is if the cold killed you or the doctors killed you. I'd guess it was a bit of both, but mostly the doctors.
