Why did everyone forget CBDCs are coming?

They are clearly intentionally tanking the financial system across the board so they can say "worry not citizens, we have a solution!" and usher them in. The housing market is already paralleling the 2008 market in many ways, debt and inflation are still spiraling out of control and they don't want to implement any real solutions to prevent disaster.

For those who don't know, every denomination of CBDCs are 100% traceable and mappable to you as an individual. They will be able to set up AI algorithms to shut off your access to money if they don't like you for any reason, extract taxes from you automatically, restrict what you're able to buy or sell, or even put a cap on how much money you can have. Anything you can do with a smart contract, the government will be able to do with CBDCs.

Dark times are coming, and soon.

CBDC's are a threat to crypto. Corporate, government crypto that is proprietary and locked to centralized funding and oversight.
Thing is, that doesn't change anything.
It will effect cash, but if you still want to pay a private entity $200 USD-CBDC for $200 in BTC, that BTC is still worth... $200 in USD-CBDC. It doesn't matter whether the USD is on a blockchain or not.
The cash might be itemized but it makes no difference to speculation.
Personally, I think it's a nothingburger for anyone legitimately spending their money on crypto.
