So I ended up paypigging for tradingview a few weeks ago. Anyways, I was able to download the whole market screener with lots of shit I can fuck around with in excel
For example, this shitco called Aslan Pharmaceuticals has basically just been shitting downwards for months. If you shorted after the giant candle (and pullback), you'd be up 600%.
I found it by looking at the trend in volume, eg today had the most volume in the last 90 days. It seems to have a ton of daily volatility, and the current price is on the low range over the last year (columns AN-AQ).
Anyways, given the huge spike in recent volume, it means people are either aggressively piling on to short it further, or accumulation for a reversal. There's a whole ton of shitcos for me to look through and find patterns (eg when certain values line up, it can get shortlisted so I can figure out what I want to trade)

At the moment weed is a class 1 drug which means it's considered as dangerous as heroin and it makes it extremely difficult for any companies to do business in.
They've been trying to get it rescheduled as a class 3 drug, which would put it federally into the same category as things like steroids and other things, that are still drugs but considered to have low addiction rates and medical potential.
This will open the markets a lot on a federal level, especially with medical weed and it will also drop the taxes to a federal corporate rate of 21% compared to the up to 80% effective tax rate they face now.
The profitability of these companies is going to shift from the negatives to actually making money, making them a viable value buy.
It also makes the whole thing hell of a lot easier in general for everyone from business to people.

Rescheduling is basically inevitably and will happen sooner or later, but it's been delayed multiple times as people have tried to fuck with the process.
But now the Department of Health and Human Services has given a recommendation to reschedule marijuana and no one has ever stood in their way as far as I understand.
They just need to accept the recommendation and Biden needs to okay it and there we go, weed is open for business.
People expect this rescheduling to happen before the end of the year and this is why the cannabis sector has been waking up and has had some insane volume popping up.

It's a really pretty chart for sure.
Breaking a long trend, retested the bottom and continues up, absolutely insane volume, industry changing news coming sooner or later. Getting me really excited, especially considering how this sector moves when it really gets going.
What caught my eye was that the entire sector has been accumulating, not just one or two stocks so I jumped right in. About as bottom as it can get too.
I'm actually a bit surprised about how this seems to be moving under the radar for retail.
I guess too many people have been burned really bad by cannabis over the years many times, and they don't much care until the fomo starts setting in.

I just realized I can basically accumulate 2x or 3x long and short etfs at the same time to avoid transaction fees at my broker (buying etfs has no fee). I just need to overweight whatever the trend is, and sell both sides when I get tapped out of cash.
There will be some tracking error, but itll be relatively hedged and besides that, avoid a lot of overhead

2) Higher volume of GCF (cleared) and DVP (Bilateral) Repo. If this is a credit issue the volume would go DOWN

This is caused by increased UST issuances, dealers almost always finance USTs with repo. They make money on the flow, not the interest on these bonds.

Supply of repos is limited by amount available for investments at money markets and GSEs. When demand goes up, supply is very inelastic (Fed Funds sellers can't just switch to repos. Legal docs takes weeks/months to set up, among other reasons). Money Funds are have very strict mandate on weighted average maturity and weighted average life of the fund.

if you want to increase capital, you have to speculate on prices of stocks, bonds, commodities and so on, and you can create whatever bet you want, especially with options.

the safest bet to increase capital is really holding SPY or even better nasdaq is you can stomach the volatility, which is supposed to be the case when investing for decades.
