No it has an inflation rate of 0 people just don't know what the max supply is. Imagine finding a new species in the wild and being like "Oh no these bugs just appeared out of thin air!"

>187,000 tons of gold in circulation
>3,000 tons more mined each year
>inflation rate 0

Of course the max supply is unknown, that doesn't have any effect on the realized rate of inflation.

Is that how you got this 1.5% number? You just divided the amount of gold mined every year by the amount of gold in circulation? Lmao

Jesus Christ you’re retarded. The inflation of a currency is not equal to the rate of supply change over the current supply.

Inflation is a very simple thing, you create more of thing, one unit of thing is now less valuable. Any attempts to make it seem more complicated are jewish tricks, and you're falling for them for some reason.

>> No.56876154

>>56876020
Even if your midwit explanation was accurate (it’s not), you’re ignoring the demand side of the equation. The value of gold can go up relative to other goods (meaning deflation) if the increase in demand is greater than the increase in supply relative to the existing supply.

>> No.56876180

>>56876154
No, inflation is a force acting on the value of the asset irrespective of demand. Just because demand, and thus price increases, doesn't mean inflation didn't occur. With no inflation the price would've increased more.

>> No.56876336

>>56876180
Inflation isn’t independent of demand, brainlet. Inflation is measured by comparing how much a basket of goods/services can be purchased for in whatever currency you’re trying to measure at two or more different times. If the supply of gold increases by 1.5%, in a year but the demand doubles and I can now buy the same basket of goods for nearly half the amount of gold as I could last year, I’ve experienced deflation despite the supply increasing. Please go be retarded somewhere else.
