O and AMT are my two favorite REITs. Both have sound businesses and a history of increasing dividends

I have most of my dividends sent to cash and then reinvest it periodically in whatever I think has the best potential returns at that moment. Right now I'm just finishing my PBR.A position.

Look into MMM my dudes, value stock, 6% divvy, going to keep buying more along with O and SCHD, eyeing Abbvie as well, but not convinced.

so are the yieldmax bros doomed to failure or an actual good idea? asking for a friend.

>> No.56863590

>>56863402
Any covered call strategy like Yieldmax funds are just a way to be neutral-to-bullish on the underlying with an income component. They have superior total returns in high volatility sideways market conditions like the last year or so but that's a lot less true now that VIX cratered and market is pumping.

Also if you got it on a shitty stock then the premium harvesting strategy won't save you. Stock needs to stay sideways to up to actually profit.

>> No.56864784

>>56863402
No idea. They haven’t been around long enough to say.

Looking for a good ETF to put my brothers inevstment in. He's a minor and our dad left us about 30k.

I'm looking for value, high dividend yield. Solid companies. I abhor tech bullshit and meme stocks. I like gold, oil, commodities and solid companies that produce products people actually need that can increase with inflation.

>> No.56865703

>>56862327
On more O, bby.

>> No.56865767

>>56863402
Most of the ones I've looked at have had steadily decreasing share price, suggesting capital erosion in the form of dividend disbursements.

I'm waiting a few years to see how they perform before I start dropping money into them. I don't need the yield right now so a dividend growth position will serve me better.

>>56865574
Probably an etf like SCHD, DGRO, or VYM. You'll want to check out the individual holdings before you commit.

I know SCHD is light on tech, which is a big part of why it's underperformed this year, but it's got the best yield of the three and strong performance in past years. If you believe on reversion to the mean, it's probably your best bet.
