Because to displace old tech is not enough to be 1-2-3-4x better you have to be 10x better for people to incur the cost of switching.

Also the tech in bitcoin is not outdated, it is actually unmatched and probably will never be matched by any other asset in our lifetimes.

I know it sounds silly but you must understand Bitcoin IS money. Everything else is not. Eth is not, fiat is not, gold is no longer. There’s no room for any other money in the economy when something like bitcoin emerges all other monies either break or harden. The only way the dollar can survive is if the government hardens it. That would entail completely changing how the government taxes, spends and manages the economy. You just can’t steer am aircraft carrier like a speed boat.

So the result is bitcoin will moon. Forever. Bitcoin has no price. Bitcoin IS the denominator of all other assets. If you’re not pricing everything you wanna buy against BTC then you are likely underperforming or taking massive risk and getting lucky.

You can't have high tps, and security, and decentralisation. There is a reason bitcoin has this limitation, and it's a limitation that is easily solved on layer2s. Monero for example will not be realistically decentralised in the future, many other coins that cram too much tech in the baselayer for shiny fast transactions will also tend towards centralisation.

Bitcoin is just too important to compromise for the sake of a little convenience, and this is why it is vastly more valuable than any other coin.

How exactly is Bitcoin money when you can’t buy anything with it and the technology is so poorly thought out even if you could you still couldn’t because it simply can not scale?

Bitcoin is wampum. We already have moved past its use and anyone still holding on is only waiting for their time to get slaughtered.

>Because to displace old tech is not enough to be 1-2-3-4x better you have to be 10x better for people to incur the cost of switching.
Says the guy talking about a coin which offers ZERO benefits to the average user or merchant for transactional purposes. Bitcoin is NOT money. It is SLOW, EXPENSIVE, and can barely even handle FIVE TRANSACTIONS PER SECOND. That's why NO ONE USES IT except as a speculative vehicle so they can acquire more actual money: FIAT, or literally ANY OTHER ASSET.

>Muh Lightning
You could not even onboard 10% of the world's population onto the Lightning Network, because you still need to do an on-chain transaction to open your Lightning Channel, which means it would take over FIVE YEARS. Not to mention LN is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE and shows ZERO CHANCES of ever being used, ZERO IMPROVEMENT in nearly a decade, and certainly not a TEN X improvement over any traditional payment network.

>Muh Digital Gold
We already had digital gold. Go buy a share of a gold trust. Order some gold online and have it delivered to your door. The point of bitcoin was digital gold YOU COULD SPEND. Aka, DIGITAL CASH. It's in the TITLE OF THE FUCKING WHITEPAPER. We don't need slow expensive gold that no one can afford to move and that sits in a centralized exchange or is held on a brokerage account in an ETF. Bitcoin has become so shitty that it's literally easier to scale it by WRAPPING IT onto OTHER NETWORKS.

Bitcoin is not better than anything. It is a DEAD, DYING project (literally dying, as it needs exponential price increases just to maintain security), whose laser-eye cult members have been brainwashed into believing it is better for everyone to run a useless node so they can verify transactions NO ONE CAN AFFORD TO MAKE.

The only purpose of bitcoin today: FOR THE PRICE TO GO UP.

>no one buys a bitcoin just to spend it, it doesn't make any sense only a retard would do that

>it has a hard supply cap
Can be changed if 51% of miners agree to change it. And they will change it within 4-8 years or else BTC will lose its security since there are PRACTICALLY NO TRANSACTIONS OCCURING ON THE BASE LAYER, certainly not enough to keep up with security. Mining revenue has not been replaced, even with the outrageous fees, simply because there are NOT ENOUGH TRANSACTIONS and the price can NOT KEEP GOING UP EXPONENTIALLY.

>if you buy bitcoin it's becasue you think it's gonna go up
I did that in 2015, 2016, and 2017, when I actually believed in it still. When it had an ACTUAL FUTURE as digital gold AND digital cash.
