News like this makes me bullish about CS2. Do you guys think Valve can decide to make skins for the game as NFTs? Also, there is this mysterious project cs2.finance. Do you guys think it can be somehow linked to possible NFTs in CS2?

>> No.56798513

Also, every year there is a bigger and bigger prize pool for CS tournaments. For me, CS is like football but for the digital world.

no lol

Why would Valve bother with NFTs? The centralised solution works much better for them. Turning them into NFTs would open a massive real money trading regulation rabbithole that they don't want to go down, and would also result in key/crate stuff being legally considered gambling and regulated as such.

wouldn't surprise me if they actually go for a web3 adaptation, also this would represent an important addition to the market, and good oportunities for shits like IQ protocol which its main feature its NFTs rentals or w/e, so imagine getting a thing like CS2 added to this, feel bullish

They wouldn't. Learn to read, the poster makes an analogy with NFTs which are essentially as useless as ingame skins.

normal people (99% of cs2's fanbase) hate crypto with or without reasoning behind their disdain, they just do. also i personally dont want to see cs2 tainted with the lame wagmi crowd. theres already good blockchain games like blocklords and splinterlands out there you know? not everything needs to be tokenized or whatever.

That's the problem with NFTs, they can just be generated over and over again.

>> No.56807106

I'm top 1000 NA and there are cheaters everywhere. Talking about niggers with 3.8 average K/Ds with 40 wins winning 12 - 3 with ease. The skins economy is dead if Valve doesn't fix the cheater problem. No new players will want to play. This is coming from someone with 8,000 hours in the game since 2014. I wouldn't be buying skins to invest in just yet

Valve will shut down the project. Don’t invest in 3rd party nft projects that are trying to build on an ip that they do not own.
