migrate, Core isnt actually all that bad.
havent used it for staking yet as my Validator still has a bit of time left to run but overall looks good.

how useful are home run validators for avalanche

ive got enough avax to run one, it'd be a pretty mid machine but would it even route much stuff through it or does it need a tonne of delegations?

do you have people delegating to your validator?

do you make much from it?

>how useful are home run validators for avalanche
depends how good your internet connection is. if its shitty then not so good.
my internet isnt that good so I run it on a server that I rent.
>do you have people delegating to your validator?
I usually have like 300+ delegations on my Validator.
>do you make much from it?
its alright, covers the costs for the server + some profit. its also comfy because it really doesnt require all that much babysitting.

I haven't migrated yet only because I'm too lazy, but I have the mild feeling Core is less safe than the old wallet, am I wrong?

why?
just look at this owl.

>As for ancient Roman folklore, owls were considered harbingers of death if they hooted while perched on a roof, and placing one of its feathers near someone sleeping could prompt him or her to speak and reveal their secrets.

I'll keep using the old wallet for staking, Rabby is better for multichain anyways

>>56791442
you'll get 7.82% yield if you stake for the whole year, so you have to consider if you want to sell your AVAX at some point in the future.
My node is full but it's 99% my own AVAX, I don't think people are delegating to small nodes they don't know and trust, maybe look into veQI or gogopool if you want to increase your reward

>for the whole year
you dont have to stake for a full year tho, you can do 2 weeks at the minimum and 1 year maximum or anything inbetween.
>I don't think people are delegating to small nodes they don't know and trust
you can see the validation history of each validator, you can also spread your delegation out over multiple validators (you should be doing that anyway).
some liquid staking protocols also delegate to all kinds of Validators automatically as long as they have the low % for the delegation fee.

Annoying community, Just look at CT, 50% of the holders are trying to swing their stack, short and buy lower, This is why Avalanche never even match Solana or Cardano is term of price performance when it should clearly be the bigger project
