I have a confession to make:
I'm 26 and do not speak like that. I despise the negrification of the younger generations as much as anybody here, and I don't know what new meme will be worthy of being made into a shitcoin. Presumably, if you spent all day on TikTok you could see the meme as it came out, but I have a terrible retail job that takes up every minute of my mental focus during the day until the weekend when I no longer have to be working, walking to or from work, or preparing food to eat at work, so I do not have the time to watch TikTok except on weekends, and I'd rather scroll 4chan and Telegram memes for relaxation.

All right, grampie, no need to remind us how it was "back in your day".

I think you're literally a millennial though, seems like I was 24 a few years back because I've done nothing with my time.

I bring this up because I don't understand generational differences, is it more of an American thing? From being a young lad I always thought about the individual, not this arbitrary generational box that's taken the internet by storm lately.

Perhaps. I have a friend in central Europe who uses the millenial/boomer distinctions. I use it because there's a clear difference in childhood experiences and current life experiences between all the mid 30s dudes I meet vs the early to mid 20s dudes I meet. I just "get" my 22, 24 and 26 year old coworkers. Meanwhile my two friends are 36 and 38 and our childhoods were vastly different, and even though they're my dear friends I feel a bit of an invisible gap in our experiences of the world, and they're both clearly millenials. The official cutoff date for GenZ begins 1996 so I've technically just made it, but you're right that I don't have much in common with the 15-19 year olds of today.

Maybe the 1996-2006 generation is its own thing.

You grew up with the Internet always having been there, but with it not yet having become peak cringe. Well, it was peak cringe at the time, but it wasn't yet universally cringe. Well, it was universally cringe, but platforms hadn't gobbled up everything. Well, they had gobbled up everything, but it wasn't social media yet. Well, it was social media, but I think people had a slightly different haircut.
