I was thinking about 5 years on just to create an on chain NFT with a smart contract that triggers possible on social media sharing.

But I might be a million years late the party here.

biz is not the right place for nft info, for some reason people are very against nfts yet will gladly play the shitcoin casino. There was hardly any buzz here when people were making stupid money in 2021.
grifting just means you exploit the nft market while it's hot, acting like you care about building a legitimate project/community. He's right, all that matters in nfts is hype and speculation, delivering a utility or a product is actually bearish because there is no more speculation. This affects even big projects like bored apes where the prices tank once a game or new airdrop arrives.
imo to make a successful nft project you need lots of funding to generate hype, or an innovative idea that causes that speculative buzz. If you really want to grift, just wait until the bull market takes off and just copy whatever trend is going. Last bull run it was copycat pfp projects and play to earn ponzis. Once a new innovation was released other projects copied the code and many copycat projects made millions off of minimal work.
