Hedges already tried shorting tether and got annihilated when tether redeemed like $25 billion, Its pretty clear tether does actually have backing, and they literally do just borrow money from tether holders at 0% and sit on tbills making >5% and make billions. They don't need to be a fraud to make filthy amounts of money because the SEC doesn't allow anyone to compete with a yield bearing stablecoin.
