I have no money, severely autistic and physically sick, I lost everything these last four years.

Why should I care about your life again?
For that matter why should anyone care about mine.

ebay is fine for buying, but ebay is such a shit way to sell. ebay gets a cut, plus their shipping is a scam. and you will, sooner than later, run into some fucker who gets a refund for no reason. they can straight up lie to you and you have no recourse. literally best case, you convince them to take a partial refund and tell them not to ship it back to avoid paying shipping.

one time i sold something for $100 with $40 shipping to bumfuck New England. guy said it was "scratched" or something minor. i managed to get him to accept refund of just the item cost, and i told him to keep it and throw it away. if i did full refund (w/ shipping) + shipping back to me, i'd be nearly $100 in the hole on shipping for something worth $100.

craigslist for cash all the way. no taxes, no shipping, just time spent driving around. it's just that some things are so specialized that it's hard to find buyers in your area, if you live rural.

but seriously, I do eBay too. when it’s good, it is really good. for me sourcing can be a pain. I have a full time job and don’t want to spend all of my time at thrift stores or waking up at 6 am for garage sales.

some motherfucker opened up a refund request 7 months after purchase with ebay against me. it was for some bullshit video game junk (games, controllers, etc). It took weeks of going back and forth with ebay before they refunded my money they took out of my account based on the word of some punk bitch. Refund after 7 months, the fucking nerve!

Cost of doing business. Tack on 5% to your price on all items and it should cover bad buyer experiences. You’ve got a global audience to sell junk for hundreds it’s worth the risk. I had $700 in returns last week. Liquidated the items after I received them. It sucked but you have to think longterm profits and don’t even get phased by little bumps. I love eBay, it’s alive and thriving like it’s the 2000s for me

>> No.56741611

Also if you think eBay is bad than you’ll hate Amazon. A seller on Amazon is treated like total dog shit and Amazon auto refunds before you even receive the item now. Return rate on Az is 3x higher

this, hopefully ebay has become more forgiving on sellers part in past years but I used to lurk on troll forums that would rave about how to rip off sellers, win cases, scam, etc. and I felt so bad how powerless sellers seemed to be in most scenarios

I run an eBay store and the worst thing is definitely the shipping. Every retard wants free shipping when sometimes items cost a shit ton to ship, especially across the country.

Prime shipping has ruined selling online but there are sometimes ways around it. I had a buyer complain I charged them twice on shipping and had to partially refund the shipping cost

FUCK SHIPPING

I sell on eBay, make a decent amount, my normal job is WFH and I only work about 20 hours a week so a side gig is easy for me.

>what do you sell?
I’m not giving you info on how to profit easy, flip something you have access to for cheap is my best advice.

>do you use any programs to track items/funds?
No, it’s relatively easy to do everything and I’ve automated my listings so takes very little effort to make adjustments or post stuff
>kek taxes
I make 500% profit minimum on my items so yeah, 16% fees, with 20% taxes at the end of the year, reeeaaallly hurt. Kek.

eBay is easy money.
