I'm 53% down and I've been in since late 2020. I never played with leverage once either, I just made multiple big time bad trades on projects that seemed "promising" (ie Harmony One) that turned out to be rugs. Also falling for the HODLing meme didn't help either when the biggest losses happened during early-mid '22.

I tried to buy Litecoin in 2013 and gave up because it was hard.

I could have had slightly more money than I do now, since Ltc is a piece of shit that never took off.

I started in early-mid 2017 with 2k and am now worth 600k (I could be higher if I didn't hold due to the fear of taxes/holding USDT back in 2018 lol).
All the people I know who started around the same time as me or before and still have tiny bags like you are almost always margin traders.

I remember gambling with 1 ETH in 2018 on Bitmex just to try, I lost everything in basically a week. I think it's basically foolish to ever margin trade in crypto due to the low liquidity (and so high volatility) combined with the information asymmetry and the fact exchanges trade against you.
It's just much wiser to use spots.

Funnily I bought early in GMX simply because of the number of degen I've seen lose their shirts on leverages. It's like investing in a casino in a sector full of gamblind addicts.
