This is a shot across all bows
https://twitter.com/chainlink/status/1707366293081337984

Crypto used to be a fun quirky corner of the valuescape where darknet druggies and goldbugs could sandboox their utopias
But alas, good things dont last
And the adults do take over

People used to "surf the web" to brand websites and order goods from them using paypal
Then the adults consolidated the frontend and you use a credit card on Amazon

People still think L1s are relevant investment vehicles, just like people used to invest in AOL
But none of that matters
What matters is the order flow
And whoever controls the real world inputs and outputs of blockchain, controls the order flow

From here forward your choice in the crypto space is to bend the knee or get replaced
And you're gonna have to beg for it

Oh, you have an L1? We'll be happy to plug it in to CCIP as long as you join build and scale
Oh, you have a defi/lending platform?
We'll be happy to plug it into global liquidity, providing you use our price feeds, CCIP and allow payment through our universal gas abstraction system
Otherwise you can go ahead and build all of that yourself

Imagine you're an AMM
You're happy in your little corner of the world swapping shitdogeinu for obamabonk
And then a pipe with trillions of liquidity opens

You can bend the knee and be a good boy
Or you can go your own way and be forgotten

The endgame of how winners win is about to start
No emotion, no negotiation, a simple choice
You build something and give a portion of the value to the Chainlink network
Or you build something and have it internalized as a full value capture layer
And you get nothing

When you see things in action, just remember it didn't have to be this way
Chainlink wanted to give the entire execution layer to Eth
But instead of true scaling they got bufficorns and years of "the merge"
So when you see projects consumed
And used as fuel for more consumption
Know they really did deserve it ;)

Yep that’s him. Clearly a high IQ individual, possibly someone who rubs shoulders with Sergey himself or is otherwise high up in this space in some way or another. Or perhaps just an overeducated dark triad neet with a few K Linkies and thirty mins to kill on a Sunday evening. Hard to tell. The writing style suggests an actual English or CW major. Someone who has consumed a lot of literary fiction over the years. There’s a Vonnegut-esque vibe to it. However the level of familiarity with the tech and project suggests something else entirely.

It was being in the constant company of OGs like this that solidified my conviction in LINK back in the day. I forgive OP for being a bit too idealistic for his own good and overestimating the extreme idiocy of the market back in ‘21. None of us could have predicted things would play out in such nightmarish fashion. Even as I read this latest post I can’t help but think “ah but the timing, you ignore the timing again.” One must realize we are (still) so early. The market must be utterly purged. The team itself has communicated that they’re waiting for legal and regulatory elements to catch the fuck up. So while I agree and appreciate the sentiment, and while I look for to dabbing on ETHfags, QNTfags, doggofags and the like, we are almost certain to have a few more clownish years in front of us yet.

That post is incorrect, swift charges fractions of a penny for that total volume, their total revenue based on swiftnet packages or per diem messaging revenue. The only other fees would be related to trade settlement or FX which would not be paid on every trade if the customer wants to FX themselves or clear through a separate clearinghouse.
