The simplest explanation to break it down for smooth brains like yourself is people frontrunning AMM trades in the memory pool... if your chosen slippage price during the smart contract interaction was confidential you could put slippage at 50%+ and frontrunning would never occur. Now imagine the world being an orwellian shithole where everything about your life is tracked and on a blockchain... you can't have your medical records, credit history, social security number etcetera publicly available and viewable as interactions on a block explorer, nobody would ever fully adopt blockchain tech.

This basically refers to the Avalanche Consensus as it is the latest Progress in the Space.
since this is an EVM and Avalanche Supports all Virtual Machines there is nothing that prevents the Oasis Network from becoming an Avalanche Subnet.

Dawn Song is close friend of Emin Gün Sirer who is one of the IC3 founders (the other is Ari Juels which she of course also knows since she is also an IC3 member).
she also knows John Wu, President of Ava Labs.
thats why Dawn Song never bothered much with "Business Development" because she knows she gets them all through Mr. Wu and Avalanche who will market the oasis network to everyone that matters.
Why is that Good for ROSE you might ask? Because this allows it to scale as needed, become more decentralized and it adds another staking mechanic to ROSE so the token is more needed than ever.

Apparently their confidential smart contracts make it possible to implement a private dex. There's one called illumineX on Oasis Sapphire and there won't be any frontrunning, mev and stuff like this on it. Too bad I sold my Rose before I found out about it.

Its the opposite of that actually, ROSE is a different type of privacy. The reason tornado is sanctioned is because its used to obscure the actual source and destination of funds which is money laundering. ROSE privacy on the other hand is keeping the source of the funds and where they are going public, but preserving the identity of the person spending the funds as private.
