Anyone else living with your parents while working full-time to save up a bunch of money? Is this the only way to make it these days?

Pretty sure most of this board still does and not to save money either
But yeah it's almost necessary now in my country unless you make a fortune or have rich parents

What country? I'm doing it in burgerstan. Can't imagine trying to make it in a country where the wages are even lower.

Is it worth to save money at the cost of your mental health?

>> No.56634166

Depends on how psycho your parents are. I'm just living with my dad since my parents are divorced and it's fairly relaxed. It's the moms that tend to be psycho.

More like women in general.
I'm telling you this because I've been in your shoes. I landed a high-paying job and saved a significant amount of money while living with my parents. Now looking back, it would have been better if I had prioritized my mental well-being over the money. But if you only need to tolerate your father and he is chill, good for you.
If I had stayed at least another year and a half with my parents, I would have saved enough to buy a home (if I hadn't gone crazy before that)

But really parents should set-up their children in such a way that the blame can only be on them if their child is still living at home at 29. I know people whose parents literally bought them good cars while they were still in high-school and houses (or at least house deposits) after they finished university. If you plucked your child from the void then you should put them before you.

yea, i am, luckily both my parents are okay with it, i'm hoping i can make a lot of money this coming bullrun and get them a simple home by the beach, it's their lifelong dream.

Very based that your parents are supporting you to make it and you want to support them after you make it. This is the exact sort of behavior that being families upper-class.

Yeah. But only work part-time. Hard to find motivation as our society crumbles to shit. No money for the people, but unlimited money for Ukraine to lose a war and Israel to bomb kids.

My parents think that I am saving up loads of money. In reality I am paying off debt with most of my paycheck, will probably take another 5 years. Don't know how to get out of this any quicker. The stress of keeping it a secret and having no money to help out when it's needed is making me go insane.

I pay for internet, food, 200 in rent, and electricity. I share a small 1 bedroom apartment with my adult sibling and parent. I hate it here. I want to shoot my brains out. The thing is though I have the ability to move out, but I just need a couple more years for a decent downpayment.

Go over to theirs or simply abstain from degeneracy. Or better yet, with 24k per year, you could be fucking top escorts and still have over 10 grand left over to buy crypto.

Yes, but I'm not even "making it". I'm quickly moving in to the high five figure and low six figure net worth purposeless dead zone.

The main benefit is that I can give less fucks if I ever get fired but I'll still have to work.

I live with my parents and pretty much gave up on the idea of ever being able to afford my own house
I have a good relationship with them, and the house is pretty big and less than 20yo, so instead of trying to save money for my whole life, I've just started to spend it on this one, buying new stuff when needed, taking care of repairs, paying some of the bills etc
I'll continue to live with them, and when they're gone I'll keep living here
